Is it me or is the 5.0 pretty rare?
Not that rare around here...
There more V6's but that's a given. Mostly convertibles. I've seen less PP V6's than 5.0's.

I live in what is essentially the car capital of the world and see exotics every day. Pre-2010 Mustangs are a dime a dozen, but there aren't too many 2010+ Mustangs. Of those I've seen, 90% are V6s and I've seen a total of five 5.0s on the road other than mine. The 5.0s are even more rare than V8 Challengers. (The Challenger used to be super rare around here until dealers started blowing out the SEs for $18,000 about 18 months ago.) What I do see a lot of are new Camaros. While these don't yet outnumber pre-2010 Mustangs, they do handily outnumber all Challengers and 2010+ Mustangs.
Since i have owned mine over a year now i have seen 3, Silver, Black and GB. That is it. You think this car would have brought more excitement with the 5.0 but i think the Camaro really took all its steam away as they are every were you turn.
Other than the drag strip (where I have seen 3) I have seen 1 other 5.0 in person. I do not live in a small town by any means, I would call them pretty rare at this point.
I was at the local weekly car show (~300) cars, its actually huge for a weekly thing at Chili's...mine was the only 5.0. About 2 minutes after I parked it there was a crowd of at least 15 gathered around it. Not gonna lie it was awesome

Thats crazy, 5.0's straight up do not exist on car lots around here. EVERY chevy dealer has 3-5 camaros, NONE of the ford dealers have mustangs. I've seen a red v6 vert, a black v6 coupe, and a used black 2011 gt/cs (that they wanted 34k for lol) at maybe 5 different dealerships including the one I ordered mine from over the past year of looking. I wish ford could make them faster.
I see at least 4-5 5.0 Mustangs a day in the Tampa area. I see alot of Camaro V6s as well. More common are the V6 2011+ Mustangs though. I have seen one other Boss 302 and that is Doug's....he knows who he is!!
wow... I was just thinking the same thing.
My head is on a swivel looking for Muscle cars on the road...and I drive A LOT... (almost 30k a year between my two cars... the faithful Miata taking the brunt of the mileage).
I have seen no more than dozen 5.0s on the road ever including mine.

Ford just isn't building many of them, or if they are they aren't distributing them properly. I check all the local dealers websites to check their mustang inventory and in an area that has a total population of over a million there might be 3, 5.0's in total. The dealers here in Canada just don't have any allocation for them.
Even if you wanted to order one you couldn't.
I've been scratching my head over this for over a year. I just don't get it?
