Really an amazing accomplishment for Ford. Toyota's excuse for dropping so far was that the survey was done during the height of their massive recalls. Maybe so. But what is Honda's excuse for getting beat by Ford? Way to go Ford ...all accomplished the old fashioned way: With no bailout money!

I would bet that the companies in the top ten are all so close to each other in quality that it doesn't take much to move up or down a few positions. It would be interesting to see the defect count from these companies compared to the chart from 25 years ago. I bet even the best manufacturer from 1985 would be towards the bottom of the today's list if their defect rate were still the same as in 1990. Good job Ford.

Fantastic! Though sadly it seems Chevy beat Ford in the pick up truck segment. No matter, let's hope this continues throughout the life of these cars.
