Louver installation in HOU?!?
Louver installation in HOU?!?
Does anyone know who can install the SHR flush mount louvers on my 11? I've tried 2 body shops, 3 window companies, and fastlane performance and nobody wants to do the install!!! They all keep saying they don't like to do flush mounts bc they could easily f up my finish... Bs?
PS: I live in Austin but I'm working in Houston for another week or so...

The hardest part is taking the old glass out of the roof. You tape the hell out of the roof surround the window on the outside, then go to work.

First post is *awesome*. Print it, do it. Or take it to a glass installer, and be done with it.
In any case, beyond the first stringing of the wire being the hardest part, if you have no intentions of keeping the glass past a memorabilia item, just make sure you appropriately saw away from the car, into the glass edge, and it'll be just fine.
In other words... they're bein' wusses, IMO.
Hey!! I'm old, and I did it. It really is NOT difficult. The interior comes out in 3 easy pieces, with 2 bolts. I didn't even use the wire thingy. Just used an exacto blade from the inside, with many a stroke. when you reach the tabs just use some force, they got to go anyway.
Go for it. Amature or Experienced, does NOT matter. That's what body shops are for anyway. To fix F-up's. Besides the best mod's are the one's YOU can say "I did it myself"
