Lost my $750 Coupon
Lost my $750 Coupon
Well, Ford's tendency to delay shipping out cars that are built has cost me my $750 coupon...Called Ford Customer Service to see if they could extend my expiration date and all the lady could say was how much I was going to love my car. When I finally got her to listen to my gripe, she sounded like a robot spouting something to the effect that it's up to the dealer to validate and honor all Ford incentives.
Here's what sucks...I wasn't planning on ordering my car until after my daughter's wedding in Oct...but, and this is what I told my dealer, due to the $750 coupon, I went ahead and ordered my car early. My car was built almost 4 weeks ago and it’s still sitting in New Boston, MI.
I'm seriously contemplating cancelling this order and wait for new incentives. All this talk about a double dip recession hitting our economy surely will affect new car sales. And when that happens, the incentives will flow.
My dealer says that they are going to talk with their rep and see what they can do...but I suspect not much will come of that. I'm sure they're thinking that here's a guy, who's bleeding Ford Blue and waiting patiently for his $42,000 Mustang, NO WAY is he going to let "his" car go over $750. My practical side is screaming to let this car go if they don't honor my coupon or offer me something comparable. Of course, my emotional side is saying "get the **** car". Right now, I'm so upset, that I have no emotions left and so, if I had to make a decision today, it’s cancelled.
OK guys...thanks for letting me vent...those that have your cars...enjoy! Those still waiting, I feel your pain.

When mine was getting ready to expire the regional rep was going to see if it could be extended. Turns out it couldn't. Fortunately, I took delivery 5 days before it expired.
Would I have still bought the car without the coupon? Probably. Would it have made it a less than ideal experience? Definitely.

You don't need the coupon. Like Knight says they can pull it up by your name and zip and see if you are eligible. I used that coupon on my 2010 ... dealer pulled it up in their system for me since I had thrown it away. I actually had two $750 coupons in the system ... only let me use one though.
Do you know how long it takes to be put into the system? I requested one a couple weeks ago and haven't gotten it in the mail yet. Just want to know in case the car arrives before i get my coupon.
