Lol guess I hit a nerve

HAHA I was banned....AGAIN....from Camaro5 for posting this after someone claims a Z28 test mule, (which looks just like a reg SS mind you) pop up.

Also this is amusing. Most of you guys bash the hell out of Ford pricing a GT500 in the 45~50k...but wait..news of a possible Z28 ??? 45~50k you say ?? NO Problem !

Haha yeah this is amusing indeed. So what happen to my SS is more bang for the buck ?
Heh, I guess I hit a nerve huh ? I really should behave

oops this should be in general..move please

The Camaro 5 moderators are just about as bad as the d'bags over at that Saleen Owners and Enthusiasts Club's (SOEC) forums.

The Camaro sucks. The LS3 is a great engine, but the Camaro is a POS. If you want an LS3 get a Vette or a G8 GXP.

I've never posted on it but the folks on Camaro 5 seem to be very thin skinned and not very objective. I'm smart enough to judge a product based on its merits but this kind of attitude doesn't reflect well on a Camaro.

I used to be a regular over there and was made to feel welcome. I was up front about being a Mustang owner, but I was very excited to see a new Camaro on its way. I kept posting until the car was finally launched, then the site became a lot less friendly

Hey even I came here. I was considering the Camaro, after being involved with Mustangs for years. I was a moderator on 5thgen.org until the traffic and unique posts went down. I got involved a little with Camaro5. I admit I was annoyed with Ford's direction with the Mustang, but my love and faith for the Mustang was rekindled with the 2011. Both V6 and GT.

I stated my position on my positive thoughts and expectations on the 2011 GT. But most seemed to want to believe that the weight advantage would be destroyed. Anything pro-mustang is going to receive fire. I come here to get more info and more valuable discussion.

I'm tired of hearing fanboys wishing upon a magical non-existant Z28. I like to see one. But I dont need to see a sub-forum for a dream car. There hasnt been any worth reading news or releases about a Z28. I can understand a future Mustang sub-forum here, because it a given the s189 model will be outdated sometime and it will be replaced somehow. Basically some guys on Camaro5 will see a Z28 test mule in the cloud and report it if they see it. They just want it to be a Z28.

I respect the Camaro, and I have to disagree its crap. Ive driven a few and love it. But it lack that touch that a Mustang has. The Camaro is a big compromise between old fans and "general plush car" comsumers. Its weighed down from that. But not a bad car. The Mustang retains its raw nature. But 2011, Ford keep the raw nature and added more fuel to that fire with more power.

I enjoyed your post on there. I thought it was good to have a regular non-fanboy view on things. Hell, thats what made it great with me as a moderator on 5thgen.org. I didnt shoot down other views, and loved a good debate.

On Camaro5 they seem to love to close a thread that they know has winning point on the Mustang camp side and have a few members that can trash talk a resident Mustang regular even when the said regular hasnt posted that thread. Those members claim to hate trolls, but insist on badgering and calling out Mustang guys (who are members) to the point that the Mustang guys let loose to put those in their place (then that Mustang guy gets banned or slapped on the wrist).

When I was a moderator, I let the rivalry flare and I added fuel. lol. But I stepped in when people turn it into childish personal attacks. On Camaro5 they close threads when its still an automotive rivalry talk still going on (i noticed more personal attacks coming from the Camaro camp).

Ninjak, you probably did hit a nerve. Tip of the Hat to you. I dont agree with the ban, but Im sure you're not hurt. lol. Glad to see some familar screenames on here.

But future reference on hitting nerves on a Camaro fanboy:

-We have Gt500, you have.........(still chasing unicorns)
-2011 Mustang GT DOES weigh less
-2011 Mustang V6 DOES weigh less
-They pick on the SRA on the Mustang, yet the hardcore Camaro fanboy's secretly wish for a SRA conversion
-They love to state a Mustang faults and blow them out of the water; but those faults are shared sometimes with the Camaro......and remain hushhush on Camaro5 (until a Mustang guy opens that up and gets shot down).
-Price point and optioning
-We have a convertible available..........not some test mule in the down under. (How hard is it to refine a freaking convertible. Its a car, not a NASA shuttle launch)
-My 4.10 with install didnt cost as much as someone mortgage payment like it does for a Camaro.

Im sure Im missing a few.

SIDE NOTE: There are some moderators on Camaro5 that are cool and I respect them a lot. They seem to be honestly open minded, but there influence to drowned out by "more popular moderator". I dont nutswing just because someone has a NHRA credits to them or nor do I expect someone to think, perform, or the act as I do (I wouldnt put them do for it).

Hey Ninjak, do you have a link to the thread where you were banned? I sometimes go over there to read things and just laugh.

BTW, had anyone on C5 actually accepted the fact that the Mustang does weight 250 lbs less for the GT vs their LS3 SS? Just curious.

No way! The 2011 GT weighs 4000 pounds and cost $40,000!

I had to laugh when they first got their cherished dream-car that no more than a month went by and they listed at least 65 different quality issues along with the epic tranny output shaft debacle! We were in mid-laugh when SOMEBODY crashed our sight! I'm not pointing fingers, but anyone who would be as sub-juvenial (like a 12 year old) to ban a member for making a rebutal to a valid point is the kind of people who would stoop so low as to crash an opposing forum for spite because they can't take any heat whatsoever! Just my opinion. The attitude reflected at Cam5 is typical GM mentality-we build the BEST *BZZZZZZ* WRONG! They build an average car, with the typical amount of re-calls and warranty claims so normal for GM on a first model year run! I am proud of our forum and its moderators for not being so childish and arrogant so as to ban someone for speaking their mind on a subject that may not FLATTER our Mustangs!

AS a point to add to my last post, if GM builds such great cars, shouldn't they be able to sell their way out of the slump they are in like Ford is trying to do? But NO they run to an already troubled gov't and asks for money! Now we are stuck as "share-holders"! I personally would like to "sell my shares" if you know what I mean! I look at it as gov't money wasted on yet another foolish project! It makes going to the moon look like a worth-while project!

I'm in the camp that thinks the Camaro and Mustang folks need to buddy up against the imports.

So the "new" Camaro guys are just like the "old" Corvette crowd! Imagine that. Thin skinned and elitist.

If they want a "real" Z28 wait. Maybe it will happen.

If they want to smoke a Coyote, drop an LS7 in one. Sounds pretty simple but not cheap.

As someone else mentioned, I thought Camaro5 was a very infomative and fun site to visit early last year as the info on the car slowly came out. Reminded me of this site in early 2004 as more & more S197 info came out.

I was stoked about the Camaro as a mfr. was finally building the car of my dreams (affordable V6 / MT RWD LSD fun but with decent MPG and range over 400 miles). Did not care for it's excess weight, poor visibilty, and interior ... so I was also droooling over the Turbo 4 & V6 Genesis Coupe and was hanging out at a few of those sites too. I really did not fit in with the Tuner crowd plus service parts for the Gen Coupe were insanely expencive and the aftermarket was going to take a while to get reasonable too ... great effort HYUNDAI, but no thanks !!

This die hard FORD man was really starting to get mad at Ford and thankfully the word started surfacing that all new Mustang engines were going to become reality in Spring 2010. This was exciting, but I was skeptical that Ford would actually match the Camaro V6 / Gen V6 in most specs. Figured they would definitely ONE-UP the general with MPG (easy to do with less weight), but to match or ONE-UP every other spec was a complete and welcome surprise. So glad I waited, as the 2011 V6 MT Mustang is my real dream car.

Doug

I used to visit C5, but only to read the news. I never posted in the forums. I can honestly say, even as a diehard Ford man, that every time I see a new Camaro, I snap my head and say to myself "****, that is a badass looking car." Yes, it is too big, yes the interior sucks, yes visibility is horrible. BUT, I have never in my life, been so drawn to a GM product (with the exception of the non-GM Hummer H1). Would I buy one? Never. But I give them props for building a car even Ford guys can respect. I haven't given a crap about a Camaro since, hmmm never. Do I care they're faster out of the box? Nope. Do I think every Camaro since the 1st gen is butt ugly? Yep!

So in conclusion, nothing has changed in the GM camp, except that I actually like the way the new Camaro looks. But their fans haven't changed, and at least in the Camaro's case, neither has their quality.

A lot of us here can appreciate all kinds of sporty cars. I like the Camaro, but like the Stang a little more. This "our cars are better than yours" mentality is childish. Just get a freaking car you like and be happy. Maybe us Stang people are a little more humble because the Camaro was up on power over the Stang for so long. But whatever. Just drive and enjoy.

I have been a Camaro owner for over 20 years and could not wait for the 5th generation, but after sitting in both cars and driving them the Mustang just fits me better in comfort and function. The Camaro is a great looking car and the LS3 is a great engine, for me the Mustang just does what I enjoy better. I ordered a 2011 GT 500, wanted to wait for the Z/28 for a comparison. I just know that it will be a year before its released then another year before the dealers stop marking them up. I know for a fact that a LSA super charged Camaro exist and have freinds that are working on the project, and even they say the car will scream but be heavy. I think the the Camaro guys are dreaming that think a LSA powered Camaro will cost $42 - 45k it will be priced with the GT-500.

Now for the long wait for my Shelby.
