Help;
Was jockeying my trailer with my boat on it lining it up to back down the ramp. Not the best ramp. Anyway the driver's side rear wheel started spinning in the loose gravel.
I thought the limited slip differential would not do that. Power would shift to the other wheel.

Boat + trailer ~~ 3,000 lbs. yes I know it is past what the Mustang is rated for, but I only drive 12 miles to the ramp 2 X a year. Spring and Fall.
Car has no problem towing. Have been doing this since 2014.

could be the limited slip is worn out and has gone "open diff" at this point

 

120,000 miles.

I figured . Damm, car is a daily driver. Never driven hard.
Probably cost $$$ to get fixed. But I probably will leave it as it is.

I am not sure if the "problem" you are describing is because the clutch packs are worn out, but it could be. By around 100K miles, my original LS differential was worn out and had gone "open diff" ... but I'm not sure how well they work in gravel when new
