Hi there
While I was at the dealership ordering my 06 model, I drove a V6 manual tranny.
I was kind of suprised at how litttle power it seemed to have, even compared to 4 cylinder manuals I have driven in the past.
Is the GT manual tranny any better than the V6, I ordered an 06 GT with the manual , I just hope its not as disappointing as the V6 was.

Not sure I understand your question...
Both transmissions have the same power - none. The engines have the power.
Considering the GT has substantially more horsepower, I would say yes, the GT is more powerful.
I'm definitely not disappointed with mine.

manual. You seem to be asking if you will be disappointed in an '06 GT manual which is going to be virtually the same automobile, basis a test drive in a V-6
manual.
I am missing something or (possibly) your posted question is confusing.

Confusing question, agreed. I can say that the V6 cars use the old T5 transmission whereas the GTs use the T3650 trans...
From personal experince with my manual trans 05 GT, the thing will smoke the tires until tomorrow with the TC turned off... plenty of available power.

Sorry perhaps I should update my signature, my Torch Red is an Automatic which is why I was posting the question since I havent driven a manual GT only a V6 manual.
Im saying I was displeased with the manual in the V6, the sales guy told me that the V6 and the GT have the same transmission, I wasnt sure....I was hoping you guys can clear this up.

Your sales guy is wrong. They have the same 5 speed automatic in both V6 and GT, but the manual trannies are different: Tremec 3650 in the GT and a T-5 in the V6. Completely different trannies.

Was the v6 you were driving on 50 octane?!
I got a v6 manual and found for a v6, to have plenty of power. Turn the TCS off and you can smoke tire all day long.
To go in and drive a v6 manual expecting it to be as powerful as the GT would be kinda silly.
It's really dissappionting to hear people coming down on the v6's, when they are trying to compare it to the Gt's. It would be like comparing the GT's to the Shelby. No comparison!
