Just drove a 2011 Mustang GT and I'm not sure I like it!
Shockingly, the dealer is lying or at least misinformed. I bought mine basically off the lot (D-X with another dealer who had it on their lot), and not only got the X-Plan deal but also was able to use my $750 coupon from the internet-requested snail-mailed brochure.
You might have been able to do that where you live, that doesn't mean it's the same down here.

I'm not discrediting your claim, I just think this dealer really is screwing you. Possibly many others as well if this is the way they are treated.
A dealer cannot reject X-Plan if he has used it on someone else, from what I hear. A dealership can universally reject X-Plan, but he can't pick and choose which customers to give X-Plan to. At least that's what my friend who manages a dealership in NC said.
That's my understanding, too.
For all you guys talking about shifter issues. I bought a new shifter bushing from energy suspension for about $20. It made a huge difference in the feel of the shifter is made of uerethane instead of ****ty rubber. Took about ten minutes to change it. And for the dude who isnt sure. My wife has an 04 and my 2011 is a milion times better i didnt realize how terrible the old mustang was built. Its noisy and rattles and slow as mud by comparison.
