Don't worry about it - the important part is you went out there and you (probably, right?) will be back!

My first-ever run at the 1/4 mile was in my BMW 540i 6MT. Totally stock, it was like a turd in a punchbowl at the drag strip on a Friday night. Anyway, on my 1st run I thought I'd be smart & cut off my A/C in the staging area for maximum power.

Being excited, and having the windows up, they started fogging just as we were about to go. I was all out of sorts, missed my green, and totally spun (running on my stock Dunlop 2000Es). I LOST TO A MERCURY SABLE!! I don't even recall my time, but it sucked.

My 2nd run I was better prepared. Kept my windows down, and staged a bit shallower. I was running against a 2005-2008 Mustang. Got a great launch and had him, at least thru 1st gear (60 ft. time was 2.1 IIRC). Then I momentarily MISSED the 1-2 shift!! Just that little hesitation lost me the race. The S197 had 3 car lengths on me and I could not reel him in. My final: 14.8 @ 98. I know the car was capable of 14.1 or so @ 100, but I sure didn't do it that night....

Hopefully I'll soon get to try again in my 5.0! That Taurus guy had better watch out!

Yea but thing is, I've been to the strip dozens of times before, just not in this car.

In my 02' I was running consistent 14.2 @ 99 when N/A and 13.5 @ 105 on the juice. Which is decent for that car.
