Interior Question...
So I've noticed that in our 2011 Mustang GT photo gallery, the interior looks awesome with all these small metallic accent touches. Around the speakers, *****, and an awesome bright metal shifter ****. Here's the interior I'm speaking of:

But then I see interiors that looks more like this:

Now, this interior looks a little different... a little less flashy, and the same shifter **** as my '05 GT. So my question is: how do you get that awesome shifter ****/interior package? Are the pics from in our Mustang Gallery from a concept car or is there some option that you can select to get that interior package?

Nothing really other than interior design changes. Different leather for the seats (which are very comfortable I should add, I have 401A on my car), the awesome shift ***, some different interior colors (dark dash), and leather inserts on the door with a little chrome pony. No functional changes, other than the shift **** you could argue, all cosmetic. It is also a relatively cheap option.

Yes, it hasn't been built yet and the factory isn't even running. Your dealer should be able to adjust it without any hassle. At worst they'd have to call it in, but that's only if it has been scheduled. If you do though just make sure you keep up with your window sticker and make sure it gets on there and nothing changes. One guy had an issue where he made a last minute change to his axle ratio and it somehow ended up losing the Rear Spoiler Delete option.

Some folks disagree but I think the Rapid Spec 401A interior pkg (which you described) is the best $395 option available anywhere. I fell in love with the Hurst-like shift ****, but I also like the rest of it too - the high-quality leather, the contrasting stitching, the thin stripes, the faux carbon fiber in the dash, all of it.

the 401a shift boot is different. The 400A shift boot has a larger opening at the top to accommodate the plastic piece that "snaps" onto the shift ****. But it is possible to remove it yourself and then stitch it up properly...
401A shift boot is Ford Part # AR3Z-7277-B. Ask the dealer.
I think this is it tho? http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/Pa...=2&search=true

(shrugs) Call your dealer asap. See what can be done. You never know... you'll be the one staring at that interior for the next 5+ years... it's the dealer's job to make sure you're happy. Maybe tey can work something out.

Either way it looks great. Everyone's going to like different things. If the 400A had the pony door inserts and shift **** from the 401A then that would be killer.

I wouldn't say that. They are both great. I still don't like the stipe in the 401A package but I like everything else. I also like saddle and that's only in the 400A. I would certainly change the shift **** even though it gets hot. Other than that, the only true difference in my mind is the dash. Likeable but not to die for.

Welp yea its built and cant change, and they didnt put the backup camera in, they left it out of the quote and the order. I just went from very excited to pretty pissed that I am not getting exactly what I wanted.

There is always the option of reordering, and missing the back up camera gives them little ground to negotiate. You'd have to wait another few weeks, but you would make sure they put these things on the order.
