Installed a cover king car bra, hit a deer last night. Pics inside
My poor car cant get a break I tell ya...
I ordered a coverking car bra a few weeks ago and it finally came in. I am not a fan of car bras, but I wanted one on the car for when I'm making long road trips (I make 500-600 mile road trips about once a week, to be with family so I do need the protection it provides on the front end during these treks)
Anyways, so last night I'm driving one of the trips and I installed my car bra for the first time. It certainly got a workout thats for sure...In the dead of night I'm stuck behind a train of about 7 vehicles, the first in line being an F250. The F250 slams a deer that runs out into the road and all of the cars behind, including myself mowed the corpse over...scared the **** out of me! I pulled over into a gas station and checked out my car for about 15 minutes, luckily NO damage whatsoever...thank god ford has a bit of skid-plate-ish material under these cars, it really saved my ***.
This is a stinky *** problem...I gotta find a way to get under this car and clean it out because it smells like rotting flesh...if the car stays still with the AC going, the smell comes into the cabin...its horrible and almost makes me throw up. If anyone has any ideas what I could do to get cleaned up under here without having to go through one of those car washes that scratches paint, I'd appreciate it!
Happy weekend everyone!
Soooooo...here is a pic of what the coverking car bra looks like!
And here is what it looks like after hitting a deer corpse:

Glad there was no damage, only way I can think to do it would be jack the front up and use a pressure washer. I would wear a mask or something though incase it splashes back.

+1 on the pressure washer and jacking up the car. Aren't you glad you didn't lower you car yet !!!!
We have those self service car wash facility in an enclosed garage which have those paying high pressure washer guns. I would start up the job there and use the option soap and water to get most of the blood and hair off. Then i would bring it back home to do the detailling. Use and old wash mit to really clean throughly. Won't be fun, but someone's gotta do it. Glad to know no damage was done to your car.
By the way, how much does a car bra like yours goes for ?
Good luck.

+1 on the mask... a full face mask. Maybe more, depending on how much you like being hit by "splashback" because IMHO, it's not a matter of in case, it's a matter of when and how much. That nastiness will go everywhere once the pressure washer hits it. You might consider wearing a disposable coverall with a hood, booties, and gloves with your mask.

Just be glad you didn't hit the deer with your car first. You be paying for a lot more than a bra. (stang-ssiere?) Deer cause a lot more damage when they're standing/running and you hit 'em broadside....

Sounds like an unfair assestment........lol. Please do not show up on the scene of an accident as a witness if I am involved. I doubt you would take my side.
Drive safe and the next time your passenger asks "what's that in the road......aHead?" Choose another lane.

a drive-through no-touch car wash with a good under-carriage wash might be a good place to start . . . I haven't looked at the pics, but you might want to go to a car wash that is not close to home, where you can drive away and never be seen again . . .

Sorry to hear about this. The deer weren't large enough for cars to hit in my are so we now have elk . Tennessee has a 'road kill' law. We can now eat anything we kill with our cars . I don't like to eat deer but i've never tried elk.......yet

Man Rob sorry about your tough luck, first some a hole vandalizes your ride and once you get that fixed you run over a dear... Man tough luck.
Well just be thankful you didn't hit the dear. Hope you are able to get that cleaned up.
Looks gruesome lol.
Good luck man.
