Inside Line: '10 SPY Video!
Doesn't really reveal or show anything we haven't already seen, but interesting to see them in motion and you can hear one of them accelerate away from the camera (sounded nice).
The text of the piece seemed to indicate that the 5.0 would be a development of the 24 valve -- read: current 3V heads -- 4.6. I was thinking that the 5.0 was going to 4V heads to reach 400+ hp. Am I wrong, it will only be a 3V motor? Even at Bullet-level specific outputs (~70hp/L), that would net only about 350hp out of a 5.0. Or might their be two versions, a 3V for the GT with about 350hp or so and then a 4V SE version with 400+hp?

4 valve...don't worry about them.
Everything we've read/heard is 4v
I can't see them using the 3v anymore.
Maybe the context was that its modeled off of the current 4.6... not specifically the 3v

What if ford came out with a 3v PI head? The current 3v almost flow as well a mach 4v and are lighter then the 2v.
I hope it shows up first...again!
Ford will have had 2 new designs out since the Camaro Concept appeared.

Because it's the wisest move to make. Let's face it, car buffs don't buy Mustangs and Camaros, muscle car buffs do. Which in turn means that they will wait for all 3 main competitors (Mustang, Camaro & Challenger) to be available, in order to place an order. As for the die-hard fans of one or another company, the vast majority will stick to their choice no matter what the competition brings forth.
Next time around I'll wait for the second or even third MY to buy a car, despite the desire to have it when it's brand new. It seems that the first batch is always a bit rushed out the factory gate: '05 vs '06/'07 Mustang, SRT8 vs R/T Challenger, and so on...

I could see it giving them time to 'tweak' what they do have (the other car companies) if its revealed TOO early.
That being said, they shouldn't wait TOO long,
at least with showing it.
Maybe not power wise
(kind of like they did with the F150)

After seeing how well the automatic Challenger SRT8 did against both the GT500 & Bullitt, I am a little wary that Ford isn't going to do enough to the 2010/2011 Mustang.
I am absolutely certain the Camaro is going to be a beast with those Corvette engines & IRS. I am also impressed that both the Challenger & Camaro look so similar to their concept brothers.
I will most likely buy a Mustang, but those other cars are tempting! As I have stated before, I think Ford really needs to speed-up the process and get the redesign out by 2012MY.

The one I read had the GT-500 faster in acceleration, handling, steering feel with braking about the same.
The only place the SRT8 won was in weight (heaviest), ride comfort and trunk room.
I can't wait for the next Lightening Lap with these tow pitted against each other. If the SRT8 is as poised as various articles suggest then it should be able to to show its lights to the GT500 or at least hold it at bay. If not, I guess it lies somehwre between - "Gee I bet the editors are really going to have a nice vaction on Fords dime to good job team Mustang".
