Inlet air temp vs. External temp
I noticed this on my way into work this morning, and was keeping an eye on it on my way back.

(ignore the name of the song mocking me, as this probably is nothing and/or normal)
The radio screen external temp reading was showing about 10 degrees high on the drive to work (it always used to be spot on). On the drive back it was about 5 degrees high, and always 5-10 degrees different from the gauge screen (no pictures). I figured that the Inlet Air temp would be high since sitting in traffic, the car is sucking in others' hot exhaust, but when moving, it would be lower than the radio screen. Then when I got home and parked in my driveway, the gauge screen immediately spiked to 25 degrees higher. In theory it makes sense - there is no ambient air flowing into the system, so the engine is heating up the intake and IAT/MAF sensor, but I just have seen such a drastic jump like that in the past, even in hotter weather.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is this something I should be concerned about and have it looked at by a dealer, or is this normal behavior for 13/14 GTs?
Summary/clarification of observations (all never before seen in the 18 months of ownership)
1. External Temp reading 5-10 degrees higher than actual temperature
2. Inlet Temp reading lower than External Temp while moving
3. Inlet Temp spike upon stopping/parking

I agree with the inlet air temp spiking during parking/idle, as it is taking it's readings from the ambient hot air around the engine/asphalt.
I'll take mine for a quick drive tomorrow and see how it matches up with the temp reading I'm getting from the radio display.

Different readings from 2 different sensors. I remember last summer when it was 90 plus degrees seeing my inlet temp was 117 with the A/C on idling in traffic. Soon as I got moving again, the inlet temp dropped as you expect.
