If you have 3.31 gears........

If you have 3.31 gears spend the money and get 3.73 gears, right now. My goodness what a waste the 3.31 gears were.
My car is alive. I had no idea what I was missing.
Just one more mod and then I will be done.....for now.

3.31 to 3.37??? Couldn't be having that much noticeable difference.

I think 3.73 is a good guess.

I went from 2.73 to 3.73. What a world of difference that made.

Anything over the stock 2.73 is a huge improvement!

If you are going up at least 2 ratios then do it! If you are going to stay NA you may want to think 410's but if not a 3:73 will work for FI.....i

I went from 3.31 to 3.73 and it was a 'big' difference. I have been thinking about going to 4.10's or 4.56's in a couple years.

Do tell me why I should change to 3.73s other than the fact that my car will turn into a living car.

I'm getting excited now!! Was wondering if ill actually feel a difference, I have an appointment April 23rd to upgrade from my 3.31... Only reason I'm waiting that long is cuz I'm going pretty far to a reputable shop that's good with Mustangs and thats the week I'm on vacation.

I'm not trying to be a smart ***, I genuinely don't know this. Once you're out of first gear, does it really make a difference? I mean you can always downshift a gear if you want more rpm, right?

Randy, changing the gears will make it launch faster and pull harder, albeit you'll lose some top end speed (which isn't gonna matter unless you are doing the Texas mile or something).

I just wanted to add that changing gears in your Mustang and how the out come turns out depends greatly on a) what gears you had, b) how much HP your car puts out. To get to tall of a gear for lets say a NA 3.7 is majorly different then what you would put in a NA 5.0. .. I told a guy for his NA 4.0L not to get 4:10's because his car would dog out early in the top speed area.. I recommended 3:73's for that car, he was regretting the decision and sold the car.

I have 3.55's not sure if 3.73's would really make that much of a difference - I've been considering 4.10's for when I upgrade (I'll do a one piece driveshaft at the same time)...

What is the full cost to switch from a 3.31 to 3.73 gear? I see the gear itself isn't that bad but what is the final cost with all the stuuf you need plus labor?
