I jump start my 2012 GT and the gas milage gauge is off what do I do?

So when i was at school I was waiting for a class and was in my car on for 4 hours and didn’t turn it on but had my music on and I tried to turn it on and my battery died so i had my friends push me forward and I jump start it and my gas milage till empty was at 140 but after I jump start it said 220 miles to empty and I thought it was gonna go away as I drove it and it didn’t so I thought when I would put gas and it still not accurate I don’t know how to fix it the lines from E to F are correct but the miles to empty is incorrect how do I fix it back to normal

wait

as you start driving, the computer will recalculate the average MPG and it will correct the miles to empty and other calculations, which are based on the current average MPG

if it does not self-correct after a few days and a few miles of driving, you could reset it again -- this sets everything back to zero and then it will recalculate again

Stay in school please.

Not a single ****ing punctuation mark in this whole statement. This whole paragraph is a single run-on sentence.

^ ^ ^ LOL yeah that does make it hard to get through reading it

lately you might have noticed I have adopted this punctuation and capitalization-less style of informal writing, but at least I use some line breaks :-)

Yeah just reset your gas mileage counter and drive it for a few days. Mine will say I have 330 miles on a full tank after I do some highway driving which will drop to 220 after I've reset it and driven it in town.

Because you ran your battery too far down, when you tried to start it, before the jump start attempt. That caused basically what to computer recognized as a dead battery. Then when you jump started it, the computer had to reset. Once the battery is fully charged, that should rectify the situation.
