I have given up on Bamachips

On August 19 I ordered an SCT tuner from Bamachips. Never got it.

Today I called Paypal and told them to stop payment on my $409 to Bamachips. It has been over a month and Doug has not responded to my emails or phone calls. I don't know this Doug guy from Adam and who knows if I will ever get my tuner. Besides not being able to get the tuner while the weather is still nice here in NY, my money is tied up and I haven't been able to order from anyone else.

To those of you who paid with Paypal, keep in mind that you have 45 days to dispute a payment with a vendor. Since I was getting close to the 45 days, I had to report them to Paypal on the chance I never get my tuner.

Paypal will contact Bamachips and will give them 10 days to supply a tracking number proving shipment of the tuner. If Bamachips does not respond by then, Paypal will refund my money.

I understand he may be having problems but that should not be MY problem. I was told 10 days when I ordered it, I gave him 35. I think I have been fair enough. At this point I would be worried that he is so rushed that he may not send an error free tune.

Brenspeed hands down has some of the best customer service out there. Check them out when you get your money back. Tunes vary very little when getting from one of the big boys.

UPDATE - I just got an email from Bamachips saying they have refunded my money. Once I verify I'll look at Brenspeed tuners...

Joe

P.S. Yes, I did try calling and the phone would not even take a message.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. Maybe Doug just has to bite the bullitt and hire more people to take care of the extra customers he gets.

Well, I verified the refund and I called Brenspeed and ordered an X3 tuner from them; should have in about 10 days. If I was really in a hurry for $49 they would have mailed it out tomorrow!

You wonder how many orders are lost through poor customer service? The guy has great tunes but with all the *****ing that goes on you would think things would have improved.

The business addage states that 75% of business can be recovered and truned into a positive. IF this does not happen you lose 115% of your potential business.

Good to hear we got you taken care of, let me know what you think. Our tunes really helped get our 2010 moving before we added the Saleen.

OK, will do. You know, it would be nice if I could follow my order on your web site so I know when it is shipped. I don't think you do this now, do you?

Isn't there a tuner with a dyno near you? I wouldn't trust a mail-order tune...

I'm glade that you're satisfied. I'm sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with BamaChips. I can't make excuses for him, as I would not be happy as well with the situation that you had described, but Doug is a really good guy.

Im actually surprised to hear this, because I bought my tuner from Doug and found the service to be great; then again this was a year or two ago, maybe hes become swamped? Either way I gotta go with the last poster, Doug's a good guy.

Brent (Brenspeed) will take care you. I bought a cai & tune from him a couple of years ago and it has performed perfectly. I also asked for an emissions tune for state inspection and he emailed it to me within a couple of days at no charge. Trust me when I say you won't be disappointed.

As a company, the biggest mistake you can make is to make YOUR problems into your customers problems. I've never had anything but a dyno tune, but I've heard Bama's are great as well as Brenspeeds.

Good luck!

Don't know what happened with Doug but I have talked to him on the phone several times and he seems to be one of the nicest guys in the world. Whatever happened I wish him all the best.

I drove an 07 GT for 3 years and had both Bama and Brenspeed tunes. The Brenspeed tune had a much nicer throttle feel to it and just felt stronger across the board.

Recently I asked Brenspeed to modify a tune that I had purchased 2 years ago. The XCal 2 I had was from Bamachips so all Brenspeed ever got out of me was $75 for one tune. Despite this they were nice, responded, and sent me an updated tune. I strongly recommend Brenspeed.

I have a GT500 now so I guess no more Brenspeed for me
