Hush Power Axle Backs!!!

Just wanted to say that I installed a set of Hush Power axle backs on my new 5.0 and I love the sound! It now sounds like a V8 and even though at certain RPM's it is a little bit loud, at 60 to 65 MPH, it is actually fairly quiet inside the car. Step on the "Go Pedal" and it really sounds sweet!

I love the sound. Any of you others have them and like them as much as I do???

Regards,

Phil

No drone that I notice. I do know you can hear them inside the car, however that is normal. There is a Youtube video with a guy that takes a video/audio recording inside the car and it pretty much represents what is heard. If you want no sound inside the car at all, you will not get that rich deep rumble that sounds so good.

Lets see if I can find that video.....Yup, here it is:

Phil, I had Hushpowers and LOVED them. I later added a Lethal offroad h-pipe and while the sound was truly heaven at that point, the interior drone that appeared was unforgiving. I eventually swapped out to GT500 mufflers which are a bit quieter but have no drone.

If you're happy with the sound, I recommend stopping there with the exhaust changes!

Thanks for the heads up. I was not really planning on changing anything else out on the 5.0 exhaust. When I had the Shelby GT500, it came stock with the GT500 mufflers. A good sound but a bit too quiet (for me anyway) with the rest of the exhaust system stock. Thanks for the tip though in case I get crazy with the plastic card in my wallet...that has been known to happen before...LOL!!!

BTW, did the Boss intake make a big difference in power?

I'll have to look around here for the thread, but it made good power up top but lost torque. The Lethal h-pipe gained some of that back, so I wanted to keep that in. So I had to select another, quieter muffler to make it livable. I just looked at the dynos:

stock - 385hp
c&l intake - 394hp custom tune
boss intake - 397hp custom tune
h-pipe - 407hp custom tune

If you want your car to have maximum torque for the street, then I'd avoid the Boss. In an NA car, it just needs a few other things and a custom tune to get the most out of the higher rpm benefits.

That said, gawd is it wicked fast! Faster than my 11 second 2005 race car, that's for sure!
