How's your A/C?

Mine blows 41 degrees with 104 ambient here in the desert. These systems have a surprising small amount of freon due to cost saving by Ford. It only takes a small amout of freon loss to lose efficiency. I kind of like the idea of rapping the lines as they are located along the back of the engine compartment near the firewall. I'm going to check with my son to see if it is a good idea as he does A/C systems for a profession.

Just got my windows tinted and I'm noticing the same thing.

The A/C in both of my Mustangs ('10 and '12) was poor enough that I didn't bother using it unless I was going to be in the car for a long time... because it took a long time to cool down.
Wife had a '13 Escape that would freeze you pretty quick. Just swapped that the other day for a Nissan Rogue. Might've gone with the Honda CRV except the air wasn't cold enough for her.

2014. Mine is "okay" as well. It does the job. My Hyundai Tucson has colder AC out of the vent... but then again, the amount of cabin space the Tucson has to cool is double or triple the cabin space of the Mustang, so I don't mind if the Mustang has less AC "oomph" because it will eventually cool down.

Unless it's cold outside, the air regularly blowing through my '13 V6 vents is warm, noticeably warmer than outside ambient. Always. I have to figure (?) whatever causes this is warming the air coming via the A/C system, it is never freezing cold like from many other A/C systems I've used.
That said, it's good enough for here, for knocking down the humidity which is all I care about (you might not know that the Toronto area is extremely humid in the summer, even Floridians remark...). And it doesn't get too cold, which is good for me because I overdo it and end up with a cold or worse...it's the in and out of cold cars/buildings/stores to the warm, back and forth, that does it to me...my problem.

I had mine checked today at the dealership. Low side pressure 30 psi, high side pressure 175 psi, center air duct a/c temp 40°. All values are passing per Ford specs, FWIW.

We're just hitting the mid 90's in NE Texas and NW Louisiana and so far mine's great ('14 GT no nav). Unless I am just getting into the car after leaving it parked in the sun all day, I have to keep the my a/c on low and divide the air up so it's using the floor vents, too. Otherwise, my hands freeze regardless of which way the vents are pointed.
If it HAS been in the sun all day, usually 10 minutes on max and I can dial it back down to low...

Curious, how good/cold is your A/C? My car spends its life in a garage both at home and at work and I still feel that the A/C in this car is just OK. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, I just don't think it's that great compared to other cars. Even with recycle on, the AC never gets to that "freeze you out" point that most other cars I've had did. My wife's VW definitely has colder A/C.
It works ok, and it's not like I'm driving down the road sweating, but it just doesn't seem that cold for a car making 400 hp…surely this car should be able to drive a compressor etc. with no problems (I realize this is R-134a and not R-12 but still, all the other cars I've had have been R-134a as well and have been colder). Although it's yet to be seen how it will fare after sitting outside for 4-8 hours somewhere, and it's yet to be seen how it will work when it hits 95 degrees here. Right now it's just over 80 degrees and still I feel it's just ok, so maybe when it's 95 and it's been sitting outside, it will be insufficient?
How's yours?

I don't feel like the AC is that great on these cars. The AC in both of my 98 chevy trucks feels colder than my mustang. The AC in my 92 Cavalier will freeze you out. I just came home from work and I had to turn it down it was so cold. Of course I'm still running R12 in it.
Temps have been pushing 100* plus here in Orlando with high humidity. The AC in my GT is mediocre. Not sure what to do about it yet, but I notice the same thing. My 2006 Silverado is very cold, especially when I use recirc. If I turn off recirc, the air has a musty sense to it and doesn't blow as cold since it drawing outside air. I noticed the Mustang has this same musty sense even when the recirc is on. Makes me think it's drawing outside air instead of the dry cool interior air.

My AC is moody. I went on a road trip a few months ago when it was hot, but not too hot. The AC felt a little on the warm side and would noticeably change temperature during the trip. It felt cooler when I let off the gas. Even at a full stop, releasing the brake and just starting to hit the gas, I could feel the air being warmer.
Last week I was in 95 degree+ weather for a long time and the AC worked perfectly the whole time. I agree, though, that it doesn't feel as cold as other cars AC.

It's barely adequate until you hit the recirculate button...then it gets as cold as I want, pretty quickly. Never driven a car where that button made such a huge difference though.

Have a 2014 GT with 900 miles. The ac is ice cold. I use recirculate, max ac on the lowest fan setting once the car cools off and I am freezing. Its like a house. You don't keep pulling in outside air to cool the house. You recirculate the cold air already in the house. Same with car. If its not on recirculate the car will keep fighting to cool the hot fresh air from outside rather than the cold air in the car. Came from a 2012 Subaru STi and this cars ac is much better than that was.

I sold my 2012 STi Limited and bought a '14 GT.
I do miss the STi's automatic climate control. Set it to 75F day-one and never touched it again.
On topic.
I have no issues with the A/C in my '14 GT.

I do not miss one thing about the sti. Every time my right foot goes down, I forget what a Subaru is. That being said the GT should prove interesting in the snow with snow tires.

You have to agree the STi handled like a go-kart and I agree Mustang's are way more fun.
We ditched our ricers in favor of true American muscle cars for good reason.
If your GT is a manual you really need a TracKey.

It is manual but no can do on the track key. Car is a Steeda dealer modified car. Came with Boss 302 Manifold, Steeda CAI, Boss Side Pipes, and an SCT tuner with custom Steeda tune. The sti was fun and yeah it handled good but I prefer the handling of a rear wheel drive car. And the steering in that car was way over boosted. Now if the dccd would have been able to put 100% power to the rears it would have been a game changer. I could barely get the thing sideways in the rain. To much grip for me I guess. Others would love that.

I drive my Formula in New England winters (snow and all) with Blizzak snow tires. Works well.
