Curious, how good/cold is your A/C? My car spends its life in a garage both at home and at work and I still feel that the A/C in this car is just OK. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, I just don't think it's that great compared to other cars. Even with recycle on, the AC never gets to that "freeze you out" point that most other cars I've had did. My wife's VW definitely has colder A/C.

It works ok, and it's not like I'm driving down the road sweating, but it just doesn't seem that cold for a car making 400 hp…surely this car should be able to drive a compressor etc. with no problems (I realize this is R-134a and not R-12 but still, all the other cars I've had have been R-134a as well and have been colder). Although it's yet to be seen how it will fare after sitting outside for 4-8 hours somewhere, and it's yet to be seen how it will work when it hits 95 degrees here. Right now it's just over 80 degrees and still I feel it's just ok, so maybe when it's 95 and it's been sitting outside, it will be insufficient?

The HP the car makes has nothing to do with how much heat the AC takes out of your car.

That said, the AC in my Mustang doesn't work as well as the AC in my F250, but does an acceptable job, just takes longer to get the temps down.

I had this concern too, being an Arizona resident. We took a road trip to Las Vegas where the temperatures were approximately 110. The air conditioner was able to maintain uncomfortably cold temperatures.

The air conditioner did not work as well while idling in a parking spot, but regular city driving didn't seem to be a problem. The air conditioner was certainly the most effective during highway driving.

I have a '14 GT coupe with the electronics package if that matters.

My AC works ok, haven't been able to test it on a long run yet just in town town driving.

My a/c is cold just like the a/c in my 2011 was. Most of the people who complain the a/c not getting cold usually have the Nav package.

Mine is the same puma. The A/C in my '13 F-150 is no better. They are both boarder line sucky. A fella on the f-150 forum wrapped all the cooling lines in his truck with the foil insulation, and he swears it's much better. Something you may take a look at if you need.

I have added the NAV and have to say the NAV A/C blows colder. More duty cycle on the compressor ... -1 Celcius on a 90F day

I don't have NAV either, but I attribute it to my car sitting in my driveway with the sun beating on it instead of a garage.

I don't feel like the AC is that great on these cars. The AC in both of my 98 chevy trucks feels colder than my mustang. The AC in my 92 Cavalier will freeze you out. I just came home from work and I had to turn it down it was so cold. Of course I'm still running R12 in it.

Temps have been pushing 100* plus here in Orlando with high humidity. The AC in my GT is mediocre. Not sure what to do about it yet, but I notice the same thing. My 2006 Silverado is very cold, especially when I use recirc. If I turn off recirc, the air has a musty sense to it and doesn't blow as cold since it drawing outside air. I noticed the Mustang has this same musty sense even when the recirc is on. Makes me think it's drawing outside air instead of the dry cool interior air.

I've got a 13 with nav. The AC is OK during the day but its also 110 so I can complain. It gets warm when at lights but does a decent job when cruising. I've definitely had better ACs but its acceptable.

My AC works a lot better now that I've tinted the windows.

On a hot day I'd normally have it on Max AC and full blower speed to just keep it comfortable. Now I keep it on regular AC and lowest blower speed, still gets a bit chilly.

If I recall correctly from my dealership days, Ford says their AC systems are operating as designed if they cool the air to at least 20 degrees below ambient air temp. This is on max AC and 3/4 blower speed. My memory could be off though.

The AC in my 2013 Mustang GT (without NAV) works better than the AC in my 2001 Firebird Formula. Then again, the Formula is black, with black interior and glass t-tops. The Mustang is Deep Impact Blue with Saddle interior and sold metal roof.
