How much can I get for a trade-in? 2012 mustang GT premium
Hi, so I have a 2012 mustang GT premium stick with 13,000 miles on it. 1 of the rear sonar sensors is not working, there is a minor paint problem on the driver's side door, and the driver's side mirror was put back on with 2 screws cause of an accident that tore it off. Other than that everything else is perfect. The color is metallic red candy tint. The tail lights are after market Raxiom tail lights from American Muscle. Everything else is stock. How much so you think I can get if I trade my car in for lets say a new 2013 Mustang GT premium stick, or a new car that's not a Ford?

I say go online and on cars.com you can calculate your cars KellyBlueBook. From there you can go to dealers see how much they'll give you and how close it is to the Kelly blue book and go from there.

My 2012 Race Red GT Premium has 6K on it. It is cleaner than the day I bought it. I was thinking of buying a Boss so I went to Carmax. I have had great success with getting a good price on 3 prior occassions with other cars I sold to them. They offered me 24K. I didn't take it.
A standard dealer would most likely give you less.

This all depends on where you live and how many of a specific car you are looking for are available in that area. If the dealers have several 5.0 GT's and they are not moving they will most likely deal. Go to Edmunds or Kelly Blue Book and plug in your car information. They should give you a figure for trade in and selling it your self. I would recommend following the advice perviously posted and getting it repaired and then cleaned inside and out before you go for a trade in evaluation.
My own experience, last month with a 2011 GT California Special, flawless, no paint problems, interior immaculate, maintained by the dealer, for record purposes, and with 27000+ miles on it was traded for $26,615 dollars, at the same dealer I purchased it from in Jul 10. I was looking for $25,000.

Like was said above, properly fix the "imperfect" items so you don't give the dealer ( or the non-dealer purchaser ) any ammunition to beat you up with on the price.

Use KBB.com, Edmunds.com True Market Value, NADA.com and the amount you get is probably somewhere in the middle of all three. What you'll get exactly will depend a lot on what you're buying too.

Use NADA if you're going to trade it in (that's what the dealers use). If you're going to sell it outright, use Kelly.
Sounds like you car is in "good to very good" condition, but without being able to put eyes on it and take it to a mechanic for a checkup, it's impossible to give you an estimate beyond "about $20-25k" depending on how the car is equipped - if you sell it outright. If you trade it in, expect no more than $20k.
Of course, you could always just go to a local dealer and ask them what they'd give you for it.

Dealers use the auction pricing for trade, so In my experience as a used car buyer for a dealerrship expect less than KBB and nada. It all depends what the car is doing through the auction blocks at the time of trade.

Your '12 GT should bring around $22K to $23K as a trade-in, in my opinion.
