Did you mask off any of the brake lines or just painted over the top of them? Did you put on a primer first or just the VHT paint?

I "primed" the rusty rear axle on my 2014 'stang with a rust neutralizing chemical that I use for many rusted things around home. I use a paint brush
to apply...it's very easy to use and it encapsulates the rust and turns the
rusted parts a dark bluish black color. The rust won't come back but the
manufacturer does recommend a coating of good paint after curing.
I can give you a link to the chemical if you are interested.

That is interesting to know. The OLM on the 2004 Monte Carlo SS that I just traded in did not seem to lose any percentage while it sat and it sat a lot.

This is what I use...you don't have to mask off things, but I would do at
least 2 coats if you have time. There are other uses around home for this
stuff....but the shelf life is only a few months.

Even sprayed over ford sticker on the diff and brake fluid cleaned that up perfect to. Just vht and the rust isn't hard to get off, it's very minor surface rust.

Thanks for the link. I will definitely be doing this. Might have to wait until spring since the weather is getting colder.

If you guys wait to do the axle coating next spring then also wait to buy
the "Rust Neutralizer" at the time you are going to use it. The shelf life
deal is very important! I would only use this seller. I made the mistake of
buying some, that was cheaper, on the popular internet auction site "e--y"
and totally wasted my money.......fresh product makes a difference.
