How long are you keeping your NEW mustang?

Another thread I answered in has brought this question.

I have read several news stories that state new car buyers used to sell on average after 3 years and now that economy is bad and warranties last longer it's up to an average of 5 years depending on make.

I will have a 6/75 Ford ESP warranty on my 2013 GT and will sell before the 6 years is up. Possibly sooner depending on what the C7 and the 2015 Mustang come out with.

What about you?

My plan was to keep it for 10 year as long as it wasn't giving me problems but I changed my mind. Depending on my situation at that time, I'm planning to replace it a year after the next generation Mustang comes out. I even thinking of buying a GT.

Not selling #901. Pride and joy and close companion of many life experiences already.

Here's proof of my staying power (83):

I'd like to get a 50th anniversary model if the make one, but with pay cuts, inflation, lack of jobs in the USA (yes it affects ex-pats also) and other things I think that might not be possible. This one is paid off so it's not a big deal if I can't get a new one.

Well I really love this car so I plan on keeping it a long time. Unless the 2015 really blows me away.

I keep cars at least ten years. I purchased the 7 year /125K warranty for my 2012 V6 Convertible.

Until death do us part. It's death or mine. Whichever comes first.

At least 10 years, or until my nephew turns eighteen. She's only used in the summer, and I plan for a long relationship.

I have been on the two to three year cycle for many years, keeping one car only eight months until I saw my next mistress. This one, I have had her two years, and also have the full bumper to bumper ESP for 7/100000 miles, plus she is paid off. I plan on keeping her. She has been trouble free, and seems to get better the more I drive.

I just bought my wife a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee with all the bells and whistles, trading her '09 Passat wagon, so the Mustang stays in the corral....until the next gen and then who knows.

It's all going to depend on what the redesign does. If I love it then I'll probably wait out the first new model year and trade. If I hate it then I may have it forever.

Kept my '97 Cobra 15 years until I fell in love with the GHIG...lol.

Until we decide to get another new one.....never know. This car has no issues like some out there so we really feel comfortable with it.
