I have a 25 mile each way commute to work. Lets say if gas prices go up anymore I am going to be looking at getting the '15 V6 or Ecoboost 4.

I need your opinion about something...so I looked into the 2015 4 cylinder turbo Mustang which will probably get 32 mpg high way. My car is worth about $21,000, a new 2015 4 cylinder with the options I want is priced at $34,000 mrsp. My car is 3 years old, Bought it April of 2011. What do you think is the best option for me? and how far is your commute to work 1 way?
Mine is 33 miles each way, put a vortech on and lost a bit of gas mileage. I was more concerned with putting miles on my car than I was about mpg. Bough a beater with AC for 1400, drive it 3 days a week to work. Just dropping to 87 octane on the beater is saving money.

My commute is 92 miles each way, for around ~184 miles (plus any side trips); from Stockton, CA to San Francisco, CA, pretty much all highway miles. I-5, 205, 580, to 80 across the Bay Bridge. I spend about $30-$35 in gas a night plus a $4-$5 bridge fair. The Mustang gets decent gas mileage in the 24-26 mpg range for a 3.31 geared MT-82.

Only thing that really sucks is the miles add up. Got our car in January (4 miles on odo at the time I test drove it, registered with 16 miles) and already have over 12K miles on it. I do enjoy the commute though, and now that I am used to it, it doesn't seem as long.

I was spending easily twice the gas cost in my 2003 Lightning with bolt-ons, 6lb lower, and tune. My wife drives a 2006 GTO A4 (LS2, 6.0L) and it gets about 22-24 mpg on the same commute. The last way I commute is my 2009 Suzuki DL650 V-Strom (Weestrom) and it gets roughly 50 mpg and I spend about $15 a night (I work midnights) commuting on it.

Stock, and never put anything less than 91.

I got a five minute commute each way. And I sometimes put my top down on my way there and home. Depends if I leave later than I should which I have done before. But tomorrow I'll probably drive my Dad's Rav 4 so my parents can have my Mustang to drive around if they want. :/

Hopefully not in your car!

Mine is better measured in time, 50 mins - 1 hr door to door to midtown manhattan. The 5.0 is a lot happier in the garage...

I drive in to work. I live in Staten Island and work in Red Hook Brooklyn. The Stang comes with me on nice days!

I hear you there. Only about half the distance of yours at 7 mi. each way, but a lot of it is bumper to bumper. As big as Houston is, rush hour is still a nightmare. Especially when your not on the highway. Luckily there are a few breaks here and there that I get to exploit.

Used to be 50 miles each way in the nightmare commute corridor between Modesto and the San Francisco bay.

Then I got lucky enough to be offered the General Sales Manager position here at our local BMW Dealership, and it got cut down to 3 miles each way. Usually about 90 minutes, but could take up to 2.5 hours.

IF I'm lucky and hit traffic, I can listen to a whole song on the radio...

62 miles round trip. Mostly highway. Mostly stop and go traffic. But I have a v6 so gas mileage isn't terrible. I spend so much time in the car. Glad the recaros are so comfortable.

It's blasphemy to say, I know, but you're a perfect candidate for a hybrid. That's exactly the kind of situation where they shine, since you'd stay in all-electric mode for the majority of that trip every day.

35 miles 1 way 5 red lights from freeway entrance to exit to work, not bad if i cruise at 60 mph then 45 minutes, if i have fun..... then 20 minutes when i cruise i check the avg mpg and IF it is a true reading then i'm reading 32-36 mpg highway, for a performance car that's not bad just hangin back.

34 Miles each way with a mix of heavy traffic back roads and 3 different highways. The fact that I drive it every day in a Mustang actually makes it something to look forward to. I drove a Subaru Forester for a week as a loaner while my car was in the shop and it was so boring I was having trouble staying awake.

11 miles one way. Traffic flows pretty smooth until I hit the main gate at the base I work at.
