How far is your commute to work everyday?

Five miles each way, though the morning typically takes 25-30 minutes (DC traffic). The afternoon is only about 15 minutes. I'm lucky in that I could give a rat's *** about MPG. If I had my wife's commute (hour each way), I probably wouldn't have bought this car.

5 km. All suburbian city. Behind the wheel. Smile. Turn out of the driveway. Hit the lights. Gun it. Hit the lights again. Gun it. Behind a truck, follow patiently behind. Quick turn, screech - commuter parking lot - go slow (people walking everywhere). Smile more. Park.

If your trading for the 15 because you want one, I say get her. But, if your trading to save money on gas you won't make up the difference in monies before you retire.

I just calculator and it costs me a whopping $24 per week to drive a fun car to work. Of course, I might drive it as many miles on the weekends having fun, too! Last weekend the wife and I went to a wedding with a 370 mile round trip. No kids with us, just a nice date to a wedding.

70 miles round trip for me, 32mi there and 38mi back home. I take a longer route home bc the same route there is usually a parking lot in the afternoon. Overall I think it's about 65% highway and 35% city. I average about 20mpg for that commute and I drive a lot of that like an a$$ because I'm still loving driving my new '14 GT 6MT.

38 miles one way on all rural small town roads 55mph limit with 11 stop signs, 3 traffic lights, 47 oil & gas drilling trucks & pieces of equipment, 15 deer, 4 raccoons, 2 opossums and a turkey usually. After evading everything that crawls, flies and swerves into my way I still manage 21mpg. I came from a 09 Focus 5spd getting 36mpg and I wouldn't trade my GT for nothing.

Just curious for you guys who use your GT as a DD, what fuel do you use, 87 or 93? Assuming your not tuned.
My commuter is 13 miles one way, 50/50 hwy/city, getting about 17-18 mpg. I've been putting 93 in my car, but I think I may have to go back to 87 since I drive the car "normally" when I commute.

seriously outweigh the pros and cons to keeping your GT and paying a bit more for fuel VS trading it and getting the new ecoboost mustang.
IF you drove very cautiously meaning easy acceleration let the car roll more to a complete stop VS making quick stops, I'm fairly confident that the fuel savings between the ecoboost and the GT would be marginal, I highly doubt that the fuel savings would really save you that much more where you would actually notice you saving money on gas. I would imagine, the trade in of your GT for a 2015 would be more of an impact on your finances than the additional difference in fuel savings from your GT and the 2015 ecoboost model.
Sounds like you have a tough decision on your hands and good luck with what you decide! turbo charged or not.... I would personally never did like the thought of owning a muscle car, sporting a 4 banger engine. not even it is slightly faster than my 2014 v6 model.

I always use 93, did the same in my Focus ST. It helps when I'm getting it here in South Carolina where premium is a solid $3.70 a gallon at costco and then less when using fuel perks at the grocery stores.
What doesn't help is the 5.0 begging me to slam it everywhere and drive like an asshat all over the place :P waiting for the mpgs to go up with time, but it's just too enticing to slam it. I want to see what it will get on solid highway in the best case scenario, I'm tired of seeing mpgs in the teens lmao

10 miles round trip. 7.5 highway...2.5 local roads. I'd be lying if I said I gave a hoot about gas mileage. The GT only comes out on nice days and is a full blown economy car compared to my 2005 F250 crew cab long bed!
