Anyone have any tips on tracking the delivery?

I noticed a methoid of transportation and an item# on the window sticker (maybe someway to track through the railroad company?)

 

You'll notice all the VIN's start with 1Z . . . coincidentally, so do UPS tracking numbers.

If you punch the VIN into UPS you'll get momentary satisfaction . . .

. . . until the results come up and basically tell you you're a sillyninny



Alternatively, you can head up to MI and hang out in the rail yards. Then wait for your car to get loaded and follow the train.

I know. I've already been told I'm not much help. I have no idea why my patients keep saying that!

 

I actually did that on my 08 GT. I called the rail company and they were like, "Who are you?"

To actually respond to your question, I have been reading the posts on this Forum for the past few months but I haven't seen anything that could give you more info.

 

I for one appreciate the humor

 

My car salesman checks on my cars progress every few days, then sends me an e-mail so i can read and print the information. My salesman won't let me have the password so i could check the progress for myself.

 

Is not that most don't have a sense of humor. Is that there are places for that, aka "off topic" forums. On the car related areas, keep things on topic. Thanks.

But any date they tell you is definitely an estimate. Their systems don't update real time and the dates do change throughout the process. Just keep that in mind, my original ETA was 4/4, then 4/10, now 4/29, but it still doesn't show as shipped as of today.

So its a good rough esitmate, but don't cry if it doesn't show up on the date they give you. I've learned it the hard way.
