How different does a Brembo + 3.73 GT feel?

Yeah I wish I could have ordered those, but unfortunately I wear my gear belt sometimes on my way to work (if I'm running late-otherwise I put it in the trunk), and I'm positive that I would have either ruined the Recaros or just not have been able to sit all the way in the seat haha

brembos will not make the car feel faster. The 3.73s will help. Keep in mind the new motor mkaes its power on the high end of the revs. flooring it in 3rd at 3000 rpm isnt the way to test speed. I have owned alot of these cars in the past few years(I buy a new one each year) and this new model feels really soft. I could not get over how slow it felt doing 100 mph. Its a big soft comfy car and you will need to make its worse/better with nice stiff springs.

When I first started looking at buying a Mustang, I tested a 2012 coupe with the 3.73. I was in 3rd going about 25 and stomped on the gas and to quickly let up because I kicked the tail out. I didn't check to see if the traction control was engaged. Just last week, while at the dealership where my 2013 will be arriving, the dealer went with me to test drive a 2013 convertible without the 3.73. My impression was, "Is that all?" I don't know about the brakes because that package comes with summer tires which I'm not interested in (wear out very quickly, can't drive below 40 degrees), but the 3.73 made a huge difference compared to the stock ratio.

From looking at the dyno charts for this engine, it seemed like the car is making plenty of torque above 3000.... so I don't quite understand why 3000 RPM is too low for the car to be making power.
I'm coming from a turbo... and the whole reason I'm looking at a mustang is I want a comparatively-wide torque band, where I can pay a little less attention to RPM when I want some torque.

For clarification..... the TrackPack option gets you as close to the Boss 302 as you get the Brembo brakes, summer tires, 3.73 gears w/torsen differential, plus larger radiator and engine oil cooler.
I opted for this and this car is quick. As fast as my 2012 Boss 302.

3.73 advantages and gripes about recaros
I went from a 2005 auto to a Bullitt in 2008. My 99 Vert at the standard raitio, whcih was 3.26 I think. The 3.73 gears do wake the car up. Some plusses with the 3.73s are better tractbility in town. There are some lefts that I now stay in third for; I can shift into 5th on the way to work at 35-40 instead of 45-50. I actually saw an increase in mileage in my daily commute as a result.
I encouraged my daughter to order 3.73s on her 2010 GT although I told she should have waited for the 2011.
I'm waiting for my 2013 GT. Like others, I looked at a Boss first and decided the Track Pack GT was the way to go.
As for the Recaros, try them on for size before you order them. When I looked at the 2013 Boss, nothing turned me off more than the Recaro seats. Why I don't disagree about their functionality on the track, I felt they would drive me nuts day to day. I'm about 200 lbs and 5'11" and I found the seats snug in the seat, hard to see what was in my blind spots and difficult to reach across to the passenger seat. On top of that, they are fully manual and not available with the comfort package, which was a higher priority for me. Whwn I balanced that out with the percentage of track time (<1%) made it a no brainer for me.

3.73 gears make a huge difference for this or any other vehicle. The stock gear ratio is meh. I have a 5.0 GT with 3.73's and no brembo. The brembo option is nice but I have shelby sway bars with lower and upper control arms Roush lowering springs and MM caster camber plates. This is way better than a brembo setup IMHO. If you don't plan to mod the car then get the Brembo option it's sweet. Also you have the option of getting a base model and adding your own gears. You can even put 4.10 gears but that's not very streetable if you ask me. The 3.73 is just right for street. I prefer to have my gears installed at the factory at the time of build. They work better if you ask me and you don't have to fuss with setup.

If you're thinking about a supercharger in your future you might want to go 3:55s....less traction issues and you can run the entire 1/4 without going to 5th gear....
for auto x If I had to do it I would buy a non brembo mustang; you can easily add much better suspension components and brakes than the brembo package....if I'd gone brembo....I'd have replaced all the components anyway = waste of money...in my opinion.....

I was told brembo includes track pack on the 2011 get 2010 package
If you're a performance addict, Brembos and 3.73s are the way to go. I owned a Brembo 3.73 car for a year and loved it. Everytime I drove it I had a smile on my face. I recently ordered a 2013 with Brembos and 3.55, it felt down right slow in comparison, so much so I didn't buy the car. You lose the gas mileage, but man the Brembos and 3.73s sure make it one hell of different car!
FYI, I've also driven a 3.31 and a 3.55 without the Brembo package, very different feel. Kind of like a buick with a **** ton of power. Still fun, but different.
BTW if you're getting Brembos and 3.73s order a track pack and get the extra goodies!
