i'm lovin the front end (though i'm sure crash regulations will do something to keep it off the street). Don't like the stretched wheelbase the mustang is already long enough. Good thought for the fastback, not sure about the actual execution tho. Nice Chop!

how's that?
Thanks, I love choppin' (actually I didn't know what you meant at first, then it hit me, photo-chop)
The wheel base is almost identical now. Raised the rear up a little bit.

I agree with jarradasay as the stretched wheelbase gives the car's overall appearance of being way too long and could pass as either a funny car or 2 door station wagon.. so just as a suggestion, why not consider doing a full fastback on the actual S-197 wheelbase or better yet ? see if there's a possibility of doing a photochop on an actual pic of the real car as I'm sure we would all be very interested in seeing what a full fastback would look like in a more realistic setting...

Sweet. I always thought side exhaust looks cool on a 'Stang. Too bad they don't perform well with it.
Just for fun, make one with quad exhaust and put a big chrome carb sticking out of the hood!
On that line...I wonder what an S197 would look like with the front end pulled apart...You know, like a hotrod? Hmmm....

Will it look like this photoshopped toned-down Giugiaro? I hope not.

Ford revamping Mustang for 2009
Ford is expected to revamp the popular Mustang with a progressive front and rear face-lift for the 2009 model year. In addition, the GT version will be tweaked, with its output going up to the 350-horsepower range.
So far, Ford hasn't commented on the 2009 model, but rumors have been widely circulating. They include speculation that a retractable hardtop may be offered.
At this time, all we can offer is this illustration of what our artist thinks is the direction Ford is taking with the 2009 face-lift. He just may be on target.
