I have too much fun to worry about gas mileage. Why spend 50k on a car to sweat a few mpg.

In my v6 i usually get 330-350 per tank. Avg 21-24mpg usually with 60-79% highway/backroad driving. Every 4th fill though i tend to have a lil fun and it drops down to about 280-300 per tank.

Think I average 17 mpg and I do mostly in town driving atm and I beat on her pretty good I saw 30mpg on a roadtrip from IL to OH cause weather hit 2 days early and was in freezing rain about an inch of it built up on the car... so drove in 6th gear to keep power away from the wheels at about 35-40mph for 3 hours lol parade driving but did see a 30mpg average because of it lol

I've got a 2014 TP GT and I'm in the same boat. I'm averaging 15.4 MPG right now, pretty horrid indeed but with 5w-50 and 3.73s, I knew going in that it would be pretty bad but not this bad : o ) It's so bad it's a joke around the house now.

2012 GTCS - averaging 19 (city)

My traded 2011 V6 - 21 (city)

I was afraid of terrible gas mileage making the jump to the GT... I think I'm doing ok??? I don't really know.

GT coupe barely touches what 40k w/ every option? My vert was 45k with everything but Nav and recaros.

i generally get around 18mpg around town, and on a cross country trip to california and back with quite a bit of spirited driving, and long stints of over 90mph, i think we averaged 20.3 mpg

That was around the original msrp price of my CS. I feel sorry for the original owner who took the hit selling it to me for 18k cheaper.

How many miles on your car now? Did you experience this bad mpg at 2000 or less? What was your break-in period? Miles wise?

I have less than 4000 miles on my GT/CS. It gets ~13mpg around town, ~17mpg town and freeway driving, and 25mpg on the freeway at 75+mph.

I don't get to floor it very often because of the millions and millions of other cars always in my way!

I have a tad over 42k on the clock right now. For about the first 1500-2000 miles i noticed it was in the 15-18 range even with conservative driving. After that i guess all the systems have learned all the parameters they need concerning driving habits and adjust accordingly. Around 2200-2500 i noticed my avg mpg and full tank readouts began slowly increasing to the point im at now. Hope this helps!

Thanks, I'm gonna wait it out then till first oil change, if not better dealer time then jajaj, what pisses me off was the promised mpg of the salesman without telling me I got to wait a while I should chase him with a bat lol.

Not true at all - LOTS of people buy Mustangs as a daily driver and gas mileage is an important consideration. I bought a GT partially because the mileage wasn't any worse than my previous car, a 2003 Mazda6s.

I was in the same boat up until 2500-3000ish. It will definitely improve. Now with almost 6000 miles I'm getting 16-17 city with very spirited driving and 20-23 highway going around 70mph. My last car was a 2004 Mazda3 and the Mustang actually gets better gas mileage than that did. Although, that car was 10 yrs old with 135k miles. Before I bought my mustang I rented an automatic GT on vacation that had 16k -ish miles and I remember it reading over 300 miles to E. Not so bad at all!
