I put the Redlines on my '10. My son put the MRT on his '07after he painted the brackets red to match his car. Both hood the hood up. I beleive the Redlines make raising the hood easier. I also prefer the small angle putting pressure on the gas tubes. Should increase the tube life if you open the hood alot. The driling part was easy.

I ordered the Redline Quicklift Plus. It was price (which I got a good deal on the RLs) that made it worth while. Drilling doesn't bother me, and if you take your time, there shouldn't be an issue. I've seen the CDC ones in person on Shaun's car and hopefully can compare them at a later date for everyone to see.

I can attest to his personally.

The don't line up with the underside of our hood.

There is a 90* corner that will dig into the underside of your hood with these.

I've already spoke with Cal Pony and sent them pics to confirm this.

As to if they continue to sell them marketed as a perfect fit for the '11, that's up to them.

I have the MRT Struts on my '05 and love them!
So what are an inexpensive option for 5.0 Owners?

Redline, MRT, or CDC are the cheapest I've seen. They come in at $85 and $100, respectively.

I'd get a set of MRT's, but the thing that bugs me is they're only available in what looks like grey. Can't they just charge more and offer them in original factory colors !

For less than $20 NAPA will mix a spraybomb that will match your paint code perfectly.

When I bought mine they offered Silver too, which is a perfect match to the strut bar...

I did the Redline install today. Piece of cake. If you can follow directions and measure, you can install them. Extremely smooth operation too.

Well said dude is a bit **** about things, so it will never be a perfect match with my car's original color, even if i get a match color spray can from NAPA , from past experience, paint doesn't hold as good as if it was powder coated.
Now i have an excuse to go out by a powder coating system.

I too have the Redlines. They look stock and if you didn't know I had a prop rod, you would think it's stock. Don't fear the drill!

How many of you with hood strut kits took the prop rod out? I finished my Redline install earlier and thought about it.
