Ok so its been a month or so since i've had my Cirvini's hood and well its not so flush on one side, its higher then the fender.

I know you're suppose to adjust the hood latch but i have no clue how to do that. Not too sure this is the issue but though i would start with that. ( i only ask because per the instructions it says to do it, with not a well written out way in how to"

I cant figure out what else would be causing it to sit higher, i lowered the rubber stops and it still made no difference.

 

Russ... maybe a body shop? I spoke to my trusted one about painting/install, and according to them, you have to be careful with aftermarket hoods, as some/most of the time, depending on quality, they will not be "perfect" like factory. That being said, they can usually compensate for the hood being off to one side, for example, etc. I'm not quiet sure how to adjust for level/height being off to one side, but having a shop who knows what they're doing should help. Probably take them less than a 1/2 hour, while we would take a couple hours. LOL.

Edit: tbh, that's why I haven't gotten an aftermarket hood yet. I get worried about fit.

 

i just heard a lot of good things about cirvinis and how good their hoods fit.. i emailed them directly so ill see.

 

First thing I would do is lower the hood until it catches the first latch and then measure both sides to see if it is off on the one side. I think if both sides measure the same, adjusting the latch won't help. It's will be in the hinges or the hood could be off.

Lol yes but that's the first latch or safety catch when u first lower your so it's not closed all the way. Once it's closed it fits perfect.

Yeah, I'm still debating when (or if) I should pull the trigger on a Cervinis, like Russ did.

 

Mine fit great. Have you tried loosening the bolts on the hinges and lowering it down? Id try that. I was able to start my hinge bolts, lower the hood and move it around. Only lower it till its on the stops. That's how I adjusted it to make the gaps identical.

 

did you try adjusting the rubber bump stops?

 

reading would answer that. but yes i did. i removed them all together to see if that was the issue on the left side and still no change to it but i will try the couple things mention in this thread.
