Hood Corrosion Solutions

Yes I know this topic has been talked about in dozens of other threads. However, most I've found are pretty old.

Ford didn't cover my corrosion WAYY back when I was under warranty, so I've just been touching it up once every couple months ever since. But the bumbling has now reached almost a 1/3 up the hood now. Much worse than I've seen in photos online. I think it's time for more serious action.

New aftermarket hood that doesn't have the problems or should I just get a complete respray? Has anyone who has had the hood completely stripped, re-prepped, and painted had issues return quickly?

EDIT: And which hoods close to stock looking would you recommend?

you can get a black carbon fiber hood for under $1,000; ready to go if you like the carbon fiber finish

$1,000 total for the hood and the paint job? That's a real good deal, I thought either the hood or the paint would be close to $1,000 alone.

Now that you mention it, I think I do remember seeing your posts about it at the time . . .

Hood Was on Sale for $550 straight from Cervinis and $450 for paint. Doing the front bumper at the same time probably kept the price point at that.
Cervinis wants you to use a certain primer that was like $450 a gallon and the hood used 2 quarts and I gave him extra for that. It was something unexpected and I did give him extra for it so in all fairness it was $1200 and a perfect match. Cervinis wanted $1290 and it might not be so perfect and the Louvers would have been Matte Black and not UA Black to match the rest of the black on the car.
Now to get my Ram Air working, see how good my painting is on the plastic under hood snorkel.

Get a pre-painted Cervinis one. I'm 4 years in when mine and it's held up great through 45,000 miles of driving and two winters. Great paint match too.
