HomeLink vs. Car2U garage door opener
Just to share some information to those who have had issues programming their visor garage door remote. Apparently there was two systems used,
Homelink
and Car2U.
Homelink has a single LED and Car2U has 3 leds one above each button. Of course the programming is different for each system. I was able to get my Car2U system(3 LEDs) finally working following these instructions here https://veterangaragedoor.com/diy/ho...-car2u-system/ and the pdf attachement here.car2u-system-programming.pdf. I was struggling to get the system to work and I finally did. I remapped button 3 to work with Genie per the pdf, then programmed per the website.I hope it helps someone else too.

Yep. My 2014 was a very early one and has the Car2U system that was on the earlier Mustangs. When they ran out of stock they started installing HomeLink in the later 2014s. I was able to get my three buttons programmed for two garage doors and a gate across my driveway.

Mine still needs a Car2U repeater since I have a Chamberlain, my Home link in the truck works fine but I was on the phone with both of them at one point of another so I have the remote above the Car2U buttons.

I have posted a PDF with instructions for programming 2013-14 Mustang garage door openers (both types) and you can find it here.

I have an older LiftMaster (Chamberlain) opener I could program directly and a newer Chamberlain for which I had to have a repeater. Seems to me I had to go through the programming steps a few times to get things to work, and the newer opener has a bit of a delay after I press the button on the visor. I got the repeater directly from The Chamberlain Group.

When I went to get the repeater when it was my Daily driver they were out so now it is a weekend warrior I just use the remote. Funny thing is I have two friends subdivision gates programmed into it without any problem and the F-150 has the same 2 gates and my garage door with Homelink

Recently, my family and I moved to a new house and I tried to set up an automatic gate that stood there before our arrival. Your instructions were perfectly suited to what I was dealing with, but in the end I did not succeed. Now we are completely changing the fence and also decided to change the automatic gate. We have found experienced guys who will help us with the installation. (If it helps someone, then this is who I'm talking about: https://everlastgates.com/austin-tex...-installation/). It will be a much more technological gate, and not the old-school **** that stood here before. After all, it's 2021 now!
