Home Link Work Around ?
Home Link Work Around ?
I was in home depot the other day and I saw they had these mini remotes for genie garage door openers.......So the wheels started turning very slowly and a lot of creeking but I came up with this idea. I mounted it to the visor clip with 3m automotive tape. You can see the clip is still functional I put my mustang brochure under it to show in the picture.
I used the same remote and took the stainless clip from a janitor style retractible key ring. I used 3m double sided tape to attach it and clipped it to the visor. It works fine , but if the 2012 homelink visor is plug and play I think I will still put it in. No functional difference but I think the visor is just cleaner.

Cut hole in your light housing and you can snap the homelink in.
Then wire it to the hot side of the lights so it always has power.

If you look at the pictures on eBay you will see they are two pieces. Back plate with the electronics and the front cover with the buttons. They snap together.
