well, the enevitable has happened; i moved to a state that doesn't require a front license plate and now i have the hole in my bumper; i recall reading in the past (but did not pay much attention) that you can get some rubber plugs of some sort and paint them the color of the bumper - can anyone please tell me where i may be able to purchase such an item? thanks for any help

I have them and it looks pretty good.

 

You can buy some plugs and touch up paint at autozone.
