Thanks they both look good IMO. Im leaning towards HID's personally bc the headlights on my '03 are down right bad.

I think its safe to say that those who are 2005-2009 traditionalists tend to prefer the standard set up better than the HIDS since they looks the most similar. I think the HID fits better with the look of the New Edge s197

The HID lamp on the GT-500 look more sinister than stock ones, kinda look like Transformers... maybe with a red halo in them on a black stang !!

If I get a 2011, I'm retrofitting the stock lights with the OEM Ford HID projectors. I know it will cost more that way, but if done right retrofitting will be just as good (albeit technically illegal) and I will have the look I want with the function I desire. I think the HID option lights look like cheap aftermarket eBay projector lights.

I have a plug and play bi-xenon kit on my 2000. They are brighter than stock but still not as good as a projector setup. But it depends on your housings. Some work better than others as far as usable lighting area and glare. Mine don't have much glare, but they don't have much usable light either. And I have a 4300k kit with yellow tint on my lights (liked the Le Mans look) and I never get flashed because the color looks white/yellowish but really bright.

I personally like the look of HIDs on the s197 platform. I just wouldnt pay $600 for them. I went with "aftermarket" HIDs and i think it looks good. I also like the look of HID's for the foglights. Here's a pic of my car and one of the members of our car club here in s.florida...

The HIDs flow better in the 2010 design, The housing area for the headlights is shaped smaller at the corners than closer to the grille, makes sense to have the turn signals there.

Just noticed. Can barely see them on my iPhone, but yes even sexier now!

And I don't agree. I think the standard lights look so much better/meaner.

I have the HIDs on the bullitt. They are infinitely better than the halogens I had on the '05GT, and I had purchased the silverstars as an upgrade. They were just crummy here on the rainy back roads of the pacific northwest. I just turned 47 this year and have an increasing appreciation for good headlights and the HIDs qualify. Since good lighting is a safety issue, I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually become mandatory like tpms and abs.

I think the HIDs look good on the GT500 because there isn't a big difference between the main lights and the fogs, but on the GT I think the regular lights look better.

Yeah the HIDs definitely do look better on the GT500. I think they would have looked better if they made the circular housing around the projector bigger, and cut it off at the top, like the standard lights. It's the circle housing around the circle projector that gives the car that cross/bug-eyed look. I'll do a Photoshop when I get home from work tonight...

The look from the outside is a matter of taste, but HIDs are a huge improvement over halogens in terms of visibility. I have them on my Flex- it's the best money I've ever paid for an option. The brights nearly turn night into day.
