In your situation right now, I'd get the Boss pipes first. That way, you can hear it with the GT500s and see if it's loud enough for your liking. If not, sell the GT500 mufflers and put that money toward a set of S-types.

Funny you mention this Steve...I just had my wife sit through 10 minutes of video (she was bored lol), and she said from the videos, she thought the boss quads sounded "louder" than the s types. So given that, she recommended the boss.

She ALWAYS makes sense when it comes to cars lol.

Steve, please still take that video

I was going to suggest the Boss quads + GT500s you have now as well. Then get rid of the resonators. I think the quads will compliment any other a/b. Go from there...

I am leaning towards this as well. I wonder how no resonators with gt500 and boss quads sound like lol. So many combos lol

Now I need to find where the CHEAPEST place to buy boss quads are. Anyone?

okay, I suggest you put 2013 GT500 rear bumper kit on your car, with Boss 302 quad exhaust, and then add the S-Types to it.

This would prove to be the most expensive option.

Boss

I voted Boss Quad. For what it's worth, I have the GT500's now and plan on adding the Boss Quad in the future. Good luck!

What about cutouts? Seems to be the same price as the others, but you could turn the loudness on and off. Just an idea!

Cut outs if you want to sound like a beat up pickup with no mufflers...cut outs don't sound good. They're just LOUD noise. This isn't the OP's style, clearly, as he's running the GT500s and just wants it a little louder.

I voted for the Boss Quad exhaust as well. I am actually ordering mine today, and hope to get them installed by next week. I'm planning on running the Boss Quads without restrictors, which should compliment the SLP Loudmouth muffler deletes pretty well. Cold starts will be a blast! Should sound awesome with the Cam Idle Tune as well!!!

I'll post some videos when the install and everything is done!

I believe he is refering to the cutouts for the Boss-H side exhaust. QTP makes them and you can open or close the side exhaust when ever you want. I have them on mine and they are great, a little pricey but nice.

I voted 'keep the GT 500 axlebacks'. Use the money to help you buy some long tube headers, you'll get some extra sound when the headers are installed

he is reffering to QTP electronic cut outs. I leave my boss's wide open all the time so having cut outs for me would be pointless they would just end up getting stuck in the open postion lol

Thank you for the info. 683 shipped is a good price. Where is tousley located? Did it all arrive in good condition? All packaged well?

UPDATE: I just placed an order for Borla S Types. I justified it this way...

Since sound was a virtual tie, based on opinion (since I love them both), I needed some other key discriminators to justify one over the other. With that, I think Borla wins. Here's why:

a) quality - based on research and readings I did on Borla
b) looks - somewhat opinion based, but I love how it sticks out...with that huge 4.5" tip... and also it wins because heck, you can't SEE the Boss pipes unless you look underneath lol
c) slightly cheaper as is....
d) even cheaper when I sell my GT500's

So given that, I just placed the order!!! Wife said "ok", so BOOM, order placed. Thanks to EVERYone who contributed. I am looking forward to my new Borlas. What really did it was seeing, hearing, and driving my buddy's car... it just sounded melodious. Best part is, I can buy the Boss quads in the future, or even go with Borla over the axles too. He told me he takes breaks in the day just to go drive around the office building just to hear it. That right there

Anyone want to buy 2900 mile GT500's that have never seen rain??? I will be posting it on For Sale Section soon. First to pm me gets it hehe.

While I think you'll like the S Types, I think you'll still find yourself wanting a bit more. Maybe I'll make that video soon and show you what I mean.

Oh I agree with you Steve. Like I said in my first post, my gt500s held me for a year, then I wanted more. I think the s types should hold me for a year lol. Then maybe I will either add the boss quads, or cut the resonators, or borla over the axles (also is resonator-less). But yes, I definitely need a video of s types with boss quads please

you sound like me. I get an exhaust love it for a few months then get bored with it. I loved the GT500's but wanted more. came across a good deal and got the magnaflow comp cat back. now I want to swap that out for the stock over the axle pipes corsa extremes and kooks long tubes with catted h-pipe while retaining the side pipes.....it will happen next year when taxes come in I hope
