I've had the same experience. I do get about 9 when I'm enjoying my car in a spirited manner. Other than that, some numbers as you and I also have 3.73s. Something may be wrong

I don't know about your age by I traded a 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe (4 seat Z) on a 2014 GT Track Pack and my car insurance actually went down $50 a year. I am 53 so if your younger I don't know if that applies.
As for the Cars, The Nissan V-6 sounds good at high RPM but when you start it up - it sounds like a tractor. It sounds nothing like the music that comes out of my 5.0. The interior materials of my Infiniti were much better than Ford's and i'd expect the Z's would be too but I don't have any squeaks or rattles and that's what counts. There are a ton of more mod parts for the Mustang vs the Z and it is easier to work on too. I've also gotten more compliments on my Mustang is 2 months than I got on my Infiniti in 5 years.
I wouldn't even consider a Camaro or any other GM product for that matter - I just grew up blue oval and they are the enemy. Plus just looking at the Camaro back end they have that ugly black lower rear valence panel that looks like it isn't even there like they forgot a part when they put it together and the gauge layout is horrible.

Ok. I'll jump in here, too.
I went from a new 2011 BMW 335i sedan to a 2012 Mustang GT Premium. I don't want to say anything negative about BMW because they do make a great car, but, in my opinion, the Mustang was the better car for me at the time.
POWER: BMW had 300 hp with a twin turbo. The V8 Mustang blows it away with 412 hp stock.
INTERIOR: I paid an addition $2,500 or so for leather interior on the BMW. The Mustang was priced with the leather, and the quality is by far superior to that of the BMW. And much more comfortable on a long road trip.
LOOKS: I don't even need to discuss this point.
As you can probably tell, I'm sold on the GT. Currently at 18 months since purchase and 11,500 miles, it's just getting broken in and I take every opportunity I can find to drive it. I love it.
Regarding your other options you were asking about. I don't care for the Hyundai Genesis from an appearance standpoint. The 370Z is a possible choice, great appearance, but it has terrible visibility and you're limited to 2 passengers. The Camaro is way too heavy and the windows are too "chopped" like we used to do back in the 50s and 60s.
Before I read the previous post, I was going to ask why you hadn't included the Infiniti G37 in your possibles list. I was relatively impressed with the ones I've driven. But you're in a bit higher price point with that option.
Comparing the options you've listed, I feel the Mustang is the best choice from many different points of view. However, I'll agree that the $34K price is a bit higher than you could negotiate for. My 2012 GT Premium with the 401A premium interior came in right at $30K. Of course this was right before the new models came in and they were wanting to deal, so I think I got a better deal than you might get at a different time of year.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I have to disagree with the V6 vs the V8 remarks. I used to think that also. I have two mustangs. A 2012 California Special V8 that pushes almost 500hp and a 2013 Convertible V6 that pushes close to 360hp. Yes both have a few engine mods. While the V8 is a road monster the V6 has a ton of get up and go and is also a blast to drive. It handles a little better due to less weight on the front end. I insure the Cali for 3k miles a year and the Vert for 12k miles a year. I pay less for insurance on the Vert. So unless you are mainly concerned about the most power and bragging rights the V6 Mustang is a great fit.

Talk about opposite ends on cars. The Z is a sports car that handles curves but on straight line acceleration its nothing to write home about. The mustang is a iconic muscle car, straight line acceleration beast. Depends on the look you want. The 370 Z is a beautiful car but different than the mustang.
