Heads up for tuned 11-12 V6's
Does one failure mean that it is a chronic problem?

Your factory shaft is 2-piece to avoid this sort of thing, I've read where aluminum aftermarket 1-piece shafts have had problems at high speeds on a dyno with the fix being a 1-piece CF driveshaft (which Ford has done with the 2013 GT500 - using a CF 1-piece driveshaft to avoid the 'splodey 1-piece stuff).

^ this! I love my car but I am not going to push it past what it was designed for and expect things not to go wrong eventually. yes, it is disappointing that the driveshaft is a POS but that can always be changed if someone really wants to push it.

The ones breaking are the factory two piece drive shafts. The guy in the video has replaced his with a one piece aluminum drive shaft.
Please clarify. I know what the two-piece driveshaft on a S197 GT looks like because I've R&R'd it several times. What's a single vs. a double two-piece?
the steel two pc on the v6 has a stamped joint in the center,
the aluminum has an internal slip joint near one end and is much stronger
the gt is several pieces and is mounted to the chassis in the middle of the car

The photos help a lot. That OE V6 driveshaft is definitely something to replace if your going to push the car hard. Thanks!
Someone thought they were buying a nascar when they opted for the base mustang v6.
I still don't see how this is fords faul, or that the driveshaft is a "POS" if this won't happen under normal driving, next people will be calling the v6 engine a POS when they add 300hp to it and it blows.

Umm, maybe it is not Ford's fault. But a MUSTANG is governed slower than Fiesta or Focus (118MPH), isn't it a little disappointed?

You're asking the base mustang to pull GT stunts, when it wasn't made for that, it get 31mpg.
V6 mustang will leave a fiesta in a 1/4 mile. And the fiesta has slower spinning half shafts that won't fly apart at a higher speeds like the mustang driveshaft. And a v6 mustang is designed to be a daily driver. Not a hot rod. You want high speeds get the gt or cobra.
