Just saw this nauseating clip... Don't take your car past its limit is the moral of the story. or get an aftermarket aluminum driveshaft and do whatever you want!

J.C. - what a mucking foron, even I could hear the driveshaft vibration noise in the video and would have slowed down immediately.
But to Ford, what a mucking foron move to put a weaker driveshaft in the V6. I know this is a long-known issue for the V6 models, but did Ford really think that people would know to replace the driveshaft due to safety concerns if they tuned the 305 HP 3.7L V6 computer to allow a higher top speed? If this was a carry-over from the 2004-2010 V6 driveshaft, then someone at Ford should be canned for thinking that 300+ HP car owner would enjoy a 114mph speed limiter.
I just don't get it when manufacturers to this stupid bean counter crap to cars. Camaro V6 owners need not worry about this type of safety issue, or even GD Kia Optima Turbo, perfectly capable of 145mph at $25k.

But it is odd that the V6 Camaro does 146, 1 MPH faster than the Mustang GT is limited to.

Does one failure mean that it is a chronic problem? Surely this guy was not the first one to remove the speed governor on a 2011-12 V6 Mustang and go over 130 with it. Do we know that the custom tune was the only change he made? I don't want this to be another runaway thread were one person experiences a mechanical failure and everyone starts running in circles yelling that the sky is falling.
LEwis26, I think the governor on the GT is set at 146 MPH, not 155.

Our V6's have the 3.31 rear axle from the factory, so perhaps they get a two-piece DS like the GTs. I need to check if our V6 has a one-piece, because I don't know what it has.
