Like I posted over there...

I have clocked 1600 miles in my 5.0. It has NOT had an easy life. I have beaten this car, and you know what its been fine

The car was designed for this sort of abuse, dont let some rumor change your mind. How come there are no horror stories of them blowing up yet?

I don't believe a word of it! These people must lay awake at night figuring out what kind of a tale they can spin.

I'm installing a flux capacitor in mine. Once I add the Mr. Fusion to that, let's see how the block does.

I've encountered 2 things with my 2011 Mustang GT since I bought it. One trivial engine item, one slightly concerning traction control item.

Trivial engine item: The engine does seem to tick a little at times. Doesn't bother me though. I consider it normal for the 2011 5.0.

Traction control item: Had a situation where I was acceleration very lightly (as in, driving your Grandma lightly) down an onramp and the traction control kicked on for about 5 or 6 seconds. It prevented me from accelerating at all (cars in front of me were pulling away while ones behind me were riding my bumper). This was disturbing for 2 reasons -- 1, because it kicked in at all, and 2, because it lasted so long. This is the only time I have had a traction control anomaly. All other times it has seemed to work flawlessly. I suppose it's possible that something unnaturally slick had been spilled on the ramp. I'm not going to worry about it unless it happens again.
