Easy fix, DON'T EXCEED THE SPEED LIMIT!

I usually never do more than 5 over on the highway, haven't had a speeding ticket in about 15 years and that one was in a 18 wheeler.

Don't drive noticable, and you wont' be noticed. Why are you getting stopped?

I myself had two. One was because I rolled through a stop (California stop) at about 6:30p. He let me go, as I was a block from my house. A block. But, I admit, I did it myself, and deserved to be chastised, and I admitted as much to the officer. I don't do it anymore, really. Just not worth the trouble if he's there watching... and he is, invariably.

The other? About 10pmish, I was going 45-50 on a 45, and went through an intersection that just turned green. I knew it was clear, and I knew it'd be ok. I passed a car that was stopped there. And there comes the officer, apparently from the left side, he saw me fly on through.

"You know why I stopped you?"
"Um... no, not really."
"You were doing 70".
"Um... ok, I am thinking that's not possible. I don't wish to argue, but, no sir, I wasn't."
"I hadda do 70 to catch up to you."
"Well, that sorta makes sense. Again, not wishing to argue, sir."

Wound up with nothing. He didn't have anything on me.

Both times, I gotta think it's just because she's a white newish GT. Maybe they're profiling. Whatevers. I *swear*, the calistop one, the officer *ran his hand over her spoiler.* Wistfully. Lustfully.

Whatever gets his rocks off, just don't gimme a ticket.

I've never had any problems with cops, only thumbs up. Then again I don't speed or drive it like I stole it.

+1. A smart driver has to learn to choose his moments and also learn where the cops usually hang out. If you aren't sure then you should play it cool. They always seem to pop up out of nowhere just when you get a notion to drive like a wild bag. When in general traffic, just blend in, don't be a hero, or you will be noticed.

I had illegal window tint in my state and have passed countless cops... I never get pulled over because I never pass the speed limit. It's a simple simple concept.

Buy a Valentine. They're expensive, but their radar detectors tell you where the signal is coming from AND its so guaranteed to work, Valentine will pay for your speeding ticket if you get one.

Not been pulled over yet, driving a red one. I don't consider myself an aggressive driver, though I honestly find traffic to be too severe for much anything other than going with the flow on my daily drive. There is always a car going the speed limit on any road around here, and a lack of passing zones.

Funny how many of us are driving 400+ hp cars, while at the same time preaching that one should obey the speed limit.

No rules on how long it takes you to get to the speed limit...though I have had warnings for "excessive display of speed"...

LOL. Awesome.

It all depends on the cop. If he wants to pull you over for something, he will find some violation to do so. If he's just cruising and chilling, going 10+ over the limit won't necessarily budge him.

My only ticket... was changing lane without signaling. There wasn't a car within 15 feet. It was my fault, but c'mooooon. 6 out of 10 cars on the road don't signal at all.

I have been stopped once, doing my normal 8 MPH over the speed limit. All he wanted to know is what they called the color, said Awesome car. Asked me if he could sit in it, I said fine, go for it. He played with the buttons, called his cell phone with the Sync, said it was an Awesome car again and we went are separate ways.

+1. I've always said there's a speed limit but not an "acceleration limit" (not posted anyway).

I've given several cop friends a ride in my new Mustang. Always in lightly trafficed areas. Always dramatically exceeding the speed limit. The fun is when they take the wheel. HELLS BELLS!
