Someone help me out here. What exactly do you mean by wheel hop?

I have noticed that if I punch it, at 30mph or so, and I'm going over an uneven surface, my rear end will kind of bounce a bit (up and down, not sideways) because the wheels are losing traction. But I think it's because I've got the accelerator pushed down and also because of the uneven surface. (I think.)

So help me out here, because I don't know if I have it or not. LOL!

Here is a YouTube link, I'm on my phone at the moment.

Skip to 0:37 for an example of wheel hop.

With the wheel bouncing up and down, there is also violent shaking caused by the toe of the wheel changing while the inertia of the wheel increases.

Here is a nice article that explains wheel hop in-depth, with information on what helps wheel hop and what doesn't.

Thanks for the link.
The author suggests that swapping out bushings may be the key o solving it in most cases (assuming suspension components are strong enough and that the shocks aren't worn out). It seems that in our world, replacing the component that holds the bushing is the preferred method, presumably beause you have to pull the upper and lower control arms out to swap the bushings anyway...and pressing a bushing in/out isn't always easy without the right tools.

A 100 dollar J&M aftermarket LCA's did the trick and solved my wheel hop issue on my 3.7. I haven't replaced my upper control arm and at this point have no intention in doing so. I don't track or drag strip my car but I did want a reduction in wheel hop when launching off from a dead stop at lights or a stop sign.

A pair of LCA's got that job done and no more wheel hop for me. I too would think having excessive wheel hop can't be good for other suspension parts with all that bouncing around.

S197 wheel hop is caused by the UCA.

I've had some bad experiences with wheel hop in my 5.0.
From a dead stop I rev to 3000 and pop the clutch; and my wheel hop is insane.
Bang bang bang bang bang.... It feels and sounds like I'm going over rail road tracks!!! I should take a video. It's bad.

I'm definitely think some SR lowering springs, BMR pan hard bar, upper and lower LCA's? And maybe koni adjustables? I'll talk with Jay from hyper motive and get a nice package together
