That's not bad at all. I would have expected a greater increase just taking into account the difference in value, much less the car itself.

Collision was really the only thing that went up a lot. The comp hardly any.

I'm 57 years old with a perfect driving record. My rate is going to be $131.06 more, every 6 months. My trade-in is a 07 Dodge Caliber, 4 cylinder. That's not too bad.

Mine for the '10 V6 went up $18/month over the '08 Escape we traded off. When I called to check before buying, I think the difference between the V6 and GT was another $9 or so a month. I don't recall ever having a claim with State Farm... but my wife has had a couple of doozies in the past several years.

Funny all you guys down there get quotes for a 6 month period ! Don't you get year contract quotes like we do over here. Is it like they want to see how your driving will be during that 6 month period ! We don't have ( not that i'm aware of anyway's..) such 6 month period insurance contracts over here. I've always been insured for a 1 year contract no matter what happened, but if you had a claim you had better get ready for a raise the next year. I even signed for a 2 year contract for both my house and my DD just the other day.

Can we get some kind of comparison now with a 2010 and a 2011... If its costs 10% more for the 2011, then we all know what to expect.

State Farm won't do 1 year at a time. I think it (6 months at a time) makes it easier for them to up the rates when they feel like it.

Prior to my oldest son getting his lisence almost 2 yrs ago, we had State Auto and a 1 year premium. When he joined the policy, our agent switched us over to The Hartford as they have slightly better teen driver rates but also a 6 Month Policy.

I think it depends on the insurance company and maybe who's on the policy as to how long a term they offer.

Hmmm, I'll have to check the fine print but I was always under the impression that they quote you based on a year, and you can pay monthly or every 6 months. Dunno though; I have it set up for automatic debit, and my rate hasn't changed in 6 years.

Just got a quote on 2011 gt for 600$/ year here in quebec, canada
I'm 41. They told me gt500 should be approx same price.

Something weird is while they were asking for which model, they told me they had 2011 Bullit in their model list !?!

That's a steal Rick, i'm 43 with no claims for the past 5-6 years, so the 5.0 should cost me roughly the same. How's your order coming along ?

Hey Dan, I should get my car hopefully in about 2-3 weeks.

I think the quote was 681$ total with taxes, including two years of "replacing for a brand new car in case of steal or total loss". They usually can do better than two years, but for a car of that price, they can only do 2 years.

BTW, it is with TD Insurance. They told me I am getting such a good deal because I have more than 1 car with them and also I have my house insured with them.

My agent just gave me a quote on my `11 GT. (24/unmarried/male)

$1035 for six months. Not too bad, considering my `94 Explorer costs me about $100/month right now. I'm hoping that the rate will go down at the end of the year when I turn 25, but for right now, it's not too bad.

Thats how they hit me in the pocket, My Mach1 has a "R" Code in the vin , and the rates are in a class of $$$ I was paying more for my Mach1 than a brand new Ford f-150 supercrew 4x4..
