Handling Packs?

I am looking to find the differences in the Handling packs for the 2011 5.0 vert. So far I have found Steeda and roush. Are they any good? Are there any others. I would also like to keep the warrenty intact.

I really want to loose the floating feeling. Coming from a M3 this is pretty noticeable. But I would also like to keep the DD aspect of the car. I love my M3 but it is a little to harsh something slightly less harsh with comparable performance is what I am looking for.

Thanks for looking.

The struts and shocks will be most responsible for the "floaty" feeling.

To get it to be tied down like the bimmer, you will end up with just as firm a ride as the bimmer.

Firm ride is fine. Just looking for a middle ground. Maybe just a little less than the M3 would be preferable if possible if not no big deal. Thats why I was looking for some comparison on the different options

Thanks for the response.

Try the Brembo package. Firm but forgiving. Not like my 335w/Sports Pack, but still tied down.

Otherwise, FRPP or Roush I have heard good things about.

Actually the 335 with the sports package is probably what I am trying closest to get to. As that would be a slight step down from the M3.

The FRPP FR3 handling kit is by far your best bet

I use the FR3 kit springs for my car and the adj FRPP shocks, they kick ***.

M-FR3-MCGT (specificaly for the Convertible) same warranty as factory, servicable at ANY Ford Dealer.

I noted that kit is MADE for the drop top.
95% of all ford dealers sell FRPP and if your doesn't you can buy direct or through FRPP dealers. I can prob get you a discount.

Thanks I would appreciate any help with discounts.

Now I just need to find a good dealer for this on long island, NY. Most of the ones around here stink

I probably would not have a mustang now if not for these boards and Jeff.

Thanks again

That kit comes with the adjustable shocks or do you by them seperately. I see shocks in the picture but it doesnt say it in the description.

Also how difficult is it to adjust the settings?

O thats the kit you use? I thought you had more of a drop than that. If thats the kit I am skipping those spacers LOL.

OP google Sam Strano and check his site. He will hook you up. I got my Steeda mount, springs and Koni yellows from him.....just got to get them on one weekend

Hey also you may want to piece it together on the 2011 until they drop one specific for it. That tower bar would be way up there on the 5.0.

Agree, 335's are actually quite nice even with the sport package. In fact I thought it was still a little too soft other than the runflats on the car.

My new E92 M3 with ZCP package...it has the EDC on it and in the comfort mode for the shocks it actually isn't that bad. I just came out of a 997S and even the PASM in normal mode it could be jarring.

As far as what you are looking for, you can go with an adjustable suspension setup from Ground Control or such (being in an M3 I'm sure you heard of GC) and they have a nice setup for the Mustang that can be tailored for comfort or sport.

I didnt buy a kit, we hand picked parts for my car for hard core track use.

That not the same drop as my car, its what I am recomending for his application. For what he is doing there is ZERO need for anything more serious than this kit (which is pretty **** strong btw)

OP, I was at Rehagen from 4-10pm tonight ande talked to Dean about this kit and hooking you up. send me a PM

Dave I love your car. My friends little sister that I have known most of my life just got one and it is sweet. I will definately be stealing that car from her often

I love my M3. I have to give it back in the next 3 weeks and it will not be a happy day.

Thanks for the recommendation. I think I will stick with the FR products only because this is a brand new platform and engine. And I dont want ford to tell me they wont warrenty something because I changed something.

Stig PM sent. Thanks again

meaning I used an FR3 spring as well (the 1.5 and 1" have the same spring rate)

Sorry to get a bit off topic but I am trying to figure this statement out. I will go with you on the 335 is quite nice but I am assuming the roads are much nicer where you are. I am sure the M3 feels like train plowing through a canyon bed on some of the roads I have to drive. I am comfortable in the 335 on most surfaces but it certainly has its moments. I guess I can't imagine how the M3 rides then.

OP, if the 335 is too soft, I would certainly suggest the most harsh Mustang suspension you can find for said convertible. I don't know how you will do this without a lot more bracing but I am sure you can try. Drop the car 1.5 inches or so, then you might just have a start on what you want.

OK, back on topic. Seems like The Stig has a pretty good idea with that set up.
