back in 06, every fart piped honda around would be revving/tailing/passing/whatever- really irritating.

never even rev back, some states even that can be called 'racing' or show of speed or some bs... idiots that street race are just that...'winner' is just the bigger idiot as theres no measured distance- and look how many people are killed every year- usually by immature 'racers'...
had a neighbor kid that died 3 hours after getting his license in a freaking honda/escort or some other stock economy car... 'racing' a friend of his, lost it, hit a tree...was a good kid that made one stupid mistake, cryin shame. his name was Zach Jordan, sure the story is still on the web somewhere, was 5-6 yrs ago- really a shame... he was a friend of my nephew, used to come down and check out the mustangs once in a while, he hoped to get one when he got older, sadly never got the chance...

time and a place for everything- IMHO that(staged, but dressed up like its not) street racer show was THE last thing they ever shoulda put on tv... every immature driver out there thinking its real wanting to do the same... flirtin with disaster... test and tune is safe/legal/accurate measure of a car/drivers potential, wish there were more tracks, and some educational involvement at drivers ed classes about why street 'racing' isnt racing, just stupid... time and place for everything

found it- http://www.ohio.com/news/barberton-t...-tree-1.100005

Funny...I don't seem to have this problem of others wanting to race me...maybe it's my genteel personality and winning smile. Or maybe it's the cobras on the fenders. Or maybe it's the kenne bell under the hood. Nah, it's my smile.

Good on ya for not caving in. Shows true character and maturity. I rarely get goaded into trying to race, but I always play it cool too. I'm not a good enough driver to confidently race anyone anyways, on or off a track, so i'm not gonna risk mine or anyone elses life for stupid reasons. For every a$$hat trying to get me to race there's 5 or 10 more who just wanna look and say something nice.

Keep it up

This happens all the time to me as well. I get people who tailgate me up until I hit a curve and don't slow down, just maintain the posted speed limits, which usually is too fast for the crap car they are driving. Who says Mustangs can't turn? Not this guy.

Fairfax county Virginia also has an undercover 5.0 with tinted windows and a Chrysler 300. I have seen that Mustang with many people pulled over.

So true.
Many drivers have the most basic of skills and overdrive their car but don't realize how lacking they are.

I get a fool tailgating me frequently and I usually don't play the racing game but if they ride me into a sharp turn or cloverleaf on/off ramp then I line up to take the proper apex and power out of it and lose them easily.

OP, good job in not biting. Don't let someone else's insecurity get you in trouble.

You just haven't run into the "right" crowd yet. There's always going to be someone faster or just as. Be patient. Just means you have to drive more The snakes and stripes or others will only entice more. People are foolish.

Same here. I'm definitely not a seasoned enough driver in this car to ever try something that would put my life or innocent people's lives in danger. In my first experience with jerks, I was very angry inside but was able to play it cool. Hopefully that side of me will always prevail.

Lol, same pleasant exterior and nice smile here too. I'm guessing the guys I came across probably would've tried to race a grandma in a Mustang.

I had a road rage turn into me drawing a pistol and keeping it handy due to some idiot who I dont know what i did other than drive like every other motorist - cut me off, slammed on his breaks, and started flipping me off once i said WTF do you want and told him to g-f-him self. Obviously he was that heated ( stupid me for even saying those words ) and wanted to really pull over. He was 250lbs and had a truck while i am a 145 lb dude who was minding my own business coming from church... I learned two important lessons, road rage can get ugly quickly... The ****er did back away once he saw that i was packing... but still WTF? Idiots!

To the OP you did the right thing girl!

Next time please if you get your self in that drive to a public place and just call the cops cause what he was doing was straight up bs and illegal - Instigating a road rage/fight on the Freeway.

As far as being intimidated, i think we should let our cars do the talk. Obviously they are jealous and got something to prove.

Seeing as you're female, I can only hope not. A woman with my face and smile would be a sideshow event.

My comment was more in jest than serious; I've had a few people drive up and rev at me. I just don't bother. I have no tickets on my record and I'm not interested in raising my insurance rates because some dick in a fart-canned import with a carrying handle for a spoiler gets it in his head that he has anything other than no chance in hell of racing with my 500.

lol... I hear ya.... I'm just saying, you'd be surprised at these idiots. NOTHING will stop them. Will you laugh if I told you a dad in a MINIVAN tried to race and cut me off?!?!?!?! a MINIVAN. No kidding. I had to remind him why he drives a minivan in the first place.

No, I won't laugh because I live in San Antonio and I see the idiots at every cruise-in. There's no shortage of teenagers and 20-somethings with fewer brain cells than their cars have horsepower.

Here in NJ it's the mid level luxury sedans that always try to provoke by passing on the right, tailgating, darting in and out of lanes like they have something to prove. Only thing they prove in my eyes is that they overpaid for a car that underperforms. I keep my cool most of the time because I don't want to wreck my car, injure myself...or worse, live with knowing that I killed someone. Gotta save it for the strip!

Where I'm at in NJ, it seems that owners of Camaros, Challengers, and other Mustangs don't want to mess around on the road. The ones I encounter, especially on Rt 80, want to ride alongside. Maybe it's because when I see a Chev or Dodge, I always give a friendly "thumbs up". I save a vigorous wave for fellow Mustangers.

Haha you get all the winners. Middle-aged guy in a Lexus and dad in a minivan.

That's amazing. You've inspired me to do the same, especially with the vigorous wave. Previously I've only looked over at other Mustangs and given a quick smile.

Plus you're both too busy dodging potholes the size of small VW's! :-)

It's the Pennsylvania drivers who are our problem, sneaking in through the Del Water Gap and hogging the left lane @ 50 mph. Many of them appear to have no teeth.
