GT500 suspension on 2012 5.0 with Brembo???

I went into the dealership the other day to listen to a Roush and Shelby exhaust and was told that the 2012 5.0 with Brembo brake package runs the same suspension as the Shelby. Has anyone heard this? Is this true?

No. I was told by a Ford engineer that the suspension is unique to the Brembo package. Basically, a 2011 Track Pack.

I believe the rear control arms are the same. There's some possibility of the bars being from an older GT500, but I've yet to hear conclusive evidence to that. the springs are definitely unique to the BBP as well as the dampers.

Are there any shared components between the BBP and a base GT? I recall the BBP having stiffer springs at least.

Okay, Yeah I remember reading that the suspension componenents were different for BBP but i couldn't find out what exactly the changes were. I was told by the person at the dealership that 2011 5.0 BBP didn't have GT500 suspension but that 2012 BBP does. Didn't know what to believe

I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that the brembos have silver lca's while the standard suspension's are black. At least that is the difference I can see between my wifes car and mine.....lol....other than that anybody's guess is mine.....

Does it look like the brembo car is a bit lower than the stock GT suspension? I really wished the BBP dropped the cars at least a half " as the GT sits too high. IMO

Actually, to me, the Brembo car looks like it sits a little higher. I would measure if for you but at the moment I'm in the Persian Gulf and it will be some months before I get home.

I agree, I don't know if its the wheel/tire height combo or if the springs sit taller, but the perceived ride height of the BBP is indeed taller than that of other mustangs.

Being that springs are $200-250 and 2 hours of time, to most its a non issue.

Yes but then you need a number of other components to do the drop the correct way . . . which adds another few hundred $ to the total. Not complaining as I will likely drop mine 1" eventually just wish it was lower from the factory.

For sure (I have a lot of parts in my suspension to that regard).

However, for milder drops with spring rates that aren't too far from factory it seems these cars hold up well (alignment specs and dampers).

The dampers are pretty terrible out of the box, but I just meant its not like the SN95 cars where if you didn't have C/C plates, bumpsteer kits, relocated rack bushings, reset pinion angle, new shocks/struts, shortened endlinks for sways, etc... the car would become fairly terrible when lowered.
