You own your own business, that isnt average. Although most people aspire to that position, whether it brings them great wealth or simply freedom of choice.

Hey didn't Ford kinda do the same thing to 00' Cobra R owners? Also the same again in 03-04 to the original Bullitt owners with the 305HP Mach1. The 00' Cobra R actually produced 5 less HP over the 03-04 Cobras. On top of that the 03-04 had a full interior with sound system, ac etc and it cost about half the price that a Cobra R cost in 2000.

I think Ford will make the 10' GT500 basically equal to the current KR, much like how the rumored 10' GT is basically the current Bullitt.

The GT500's power is already awesome. I say the main goal for the next gen GT500 is to make it more of a sports car. I'd say slap on an IRS, trim a couple hundred pounds, suspension tweaks and maybe 40-50HP added and we would have a much better GT500 on our hands. The GT500 is already a great straight-line missile but now fix what was wrong with the original, and power was not one of it's faults in my opinion.

+1...That would be an awesome goal for the 2010-2011 GT500. I dont see Ford changing
directions and going with IRS, but if Ford would take your advice on hp, weight, suspension etc,
we would have a nearly perfect stock muscle car.

540 HP will be great -- they just need to put the darn thing on a diet. Drop 300-400 lbs with aluminum suspension, lighter wheels & tires, aluminum drive shaft, cut some of the interior weight, more high strength steel, aluminum and carbon fiber. If they can do that, make the car not so front heavy -- they'll make it better than if it did have 600 hp.

Any idea if the GT500 will be revealed with the 10' GT at the end of the month?

Also will Ford release specs along with the actual car or will we have to wait longer for actual production data?

If I remember correctly Ford told us that the GT would have 300HP back when they released the 05' car to the public. I have no idea what they did for the 99' reveal.
