I guess there's a reason there aren't too many GT500 front end swaps around like this.
I agree with what others have been saying about the price by the time it's all said and done being close or even more than a real GT500 but with no resale value.
It looks amazing, but I'm thinking you would have to have more money than sense to do it. He must own a shop or have some serious connections to make it worth it. Definitely one of my favorite 2011's though.

I totally see you're argument, and you're not incorrect... but not everyone has 50k+ to spend up front on a Shelby.
I got my 5.0 for ~30k... Assume over the next few years I put 10k or so in it to make it personal, a bit faster, awesome looking, awesome sounding, and have the fun of putting the package of a perfect mustang to me together and still end up not spending over 50k total... I don't see that being so bad.
Its a lot of money that probably wont have the resale value of all the parts separately as a whole GT500 would, but same goes for spending 50k on any normal car that costs 50k... Check out any 5 year old M3 right now and see what they sell for. At least most of what is put on can easily be sold to the next guy and a few bucks recouped for it.
Some say, for 50k, a 5.0 can be made to be just as fast if not faster than a GT500 (if speed is all you're going for)
And after spending 50k on a Shelby you've got a sickk car, but its still the same as every other Shelby off the lot. Personalizing it only makes it more expensive. While this car, that the OP posted, is probably turning heads everywhere he goes.
Finances is all relative to one's budget in the end. If you can afford 60k on a custom shelby of your dreams, by all means, enjoy it. I know I would. But to say putting 20k or less into a 5.0 is a waste because you could have just had a Shelby... I don't know, I'm not convinced.
Again not trying to argue... I know financially you make perfect sense. But to some, when it comes to a hobby, and "wants" - waiting to save up, or making monthly payments on 50k+ isn't really worth the time you could be enjoying the 5.0 and tailoring it to exactly what you want it to be.
Thats just one man's opinion though.

Paying 1/2 the base price of a Shelby on a 5L isn't too bad of an idea...
Easy, just bolt on a supercharger on a 5L and your waaay under the 50K and have a faster car.

Totally agree here, and it is the reason I chose to get a 5L. Additionally, I would have ended up doing most of the mods on the Shelby as I plan on doing to my 5L - so post-purchase cost on mods would be around the same price (engine bolt on's, suspension, wheels/tires, ect) and the result will be relatively similar.

Again not knocking on those with the cash to spend on the Shelby. There is a premium to be paid in the name and the prestige to go along with it. I don't think those folks are stupid for not going the route I've chosen, just that both ways have its significant advantages
The car looks sick..I cant drop that kind of cash but I have resigned to the fact that Iwill keep my 07 GT and do it up. They will just keep making these things faster and better looking. **** you Ford!
Wow. I really wish I would have waited. I jumped right into the GT front conversion and there was this all along.
Just throwing this out there: Tousley Ford Depot's would be a lot cheaper for the bumper and componants.

Right? So in my head, I spend 5k to make it look how I want, 5k to supercharge it or add the power that I'd like to have, 3k on suspension goodies, and 3k on stereo and wheels and all said and done I'll have spent 46k on a car thats just as fast if not faster than a shelby, look just as good if not better, and be completely personalized to my taste.

the thing stoppin me from a GT500 is that it doesnt come in Auto tranny or clutchless manual....
traditional manual tranny gets darn annoying after awhile......the luster wears off in about 3 months...
This car has one of the best front end conversions I've seen. I'd love to see some kind of accurate parts list also to see how much is involved in theoretically getting this done.
