Got d3s bulbs. Now what?

Can someone please tell me how to change them out? All i know what to do is unscrew the black plastic caps from behind them. I see the plug going in next to it. Do they twist out like h11s?

Just pull it straight out. It's held in by a bunch off metal friction tabs around the edge.

Ya there is about 4-6" of slack on the wire so you can unplug it after you pull the bulb.

The bulb simply wont come out. Holding the ballast and pulling straight back does nothing.

It should pull out but it is pretty tight. It's been about 9 months since I changed mine but I know I had a much harder time getting the new one in then pulling the old one out. Mine was on the passenger side and there wasn't much room. Maybe it's a better job for the dealer. With you supplying the bulb, it should be pretty cheap.

Edit. just looked it up in the online service manual, it says to rotate the 2 locking tabs counter-clockwise and then pull straight back. Sorry I didnt remember that but it was a while ago.

High Intensity Discharge (HID) bulb
4. Remove the HID bulb access cover.
5. Rotate the locking tabs counterclockwise to release the bulb.
6. NOTE:
The HID bulb is retained by spring tension on all 4 sides of the bulb base.
Remove the headlamp bulb by pulling it straight back.
• Disconnect the electrical connector.
All bulb types
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
• For vehicles equipped with HID headlamps, make sure the bulb cover is fully seated.
