Good timing???

I ordered the car March 30th. Received the VIN April 13th, build day is April 19th. Delivery date is May 2nd. Is it too good to be true?

Sounds like it is, if you read the "Production Hold on Brembo cars" thread...

I did read that but I didn't order the Brembo's. I'm one of those that just doesn't like the Brembo rims.

I agree with ya on not liking the rims, plus I want to use my 2005 17" rims for winter. Those should fit over stock GT brakes, I hope...

If you read the thread, it mentions every Stang is on hold. A problem that is affecting every model, not just the Brembo cars.

I made a comment about changing the thread title, but it seems to have gotten nowhere.

I have a GT that was built on 4/12 with an ETD of 4/30. Hopefully it's somewhere close to that date.

Have you gotten your window sticker yet? My build date is also the 19th, but the sticker isn't available yet. I understand they are normally available a week before build date.

Yes I did, looked it up as soon as I got the VIN on the 13th.

I agree on the rims...they're just not doing it for me. I thought of getting the Brembos, but decided I'm going to order my 5.0 with the regular 18" rims and brakes. Once I get the car, will go with aftermarket 19s and have a local shop install Brembos or Baer brakes.

Also, I think Ford should have gone one one step further and maybe painted the Brembo calipers the same color as the exterior of the car...that would have been a nice touch.

You realize the cost associated with that? It's not cheap to paint them at all. I'm just glad they didn't go with an obnoxious color for the caliper itself. The dark grey looks good, although I wish the font was white instead of red.

Yes I did...and even if it was suggested to paint them, I’m sure the bean counters at Ford nixed it.

I thought a 17" rim was the SMALLEST that would fit over regular 2005-10 GT / now 2011 V6 brakes.

Since the 2011 GT brakes got bigger and the temp spare supplied is 18", I'd guess that 17's WILL NOT fit on a 2011 GT.

Personally, I'm hoping a 16" temp spare will fit over the '11 V6 brakes as I have one from a Dodge GC that is just slightly taller than the new 18" GT mini (26.275 vs. 26.010"), both of which are taller than the 2005-10 GT 17" mini spare (25.740") ... which would be the next logical choice as there are plenty of these available from salvage yards.
